Always a stop when heading home from Abilene. A small, old, plain, typical small town restaurant with really good food. I always have breakfast, and my wife usually has their enchiladas. Never been disappointed. Very good food at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a stop if passing through Cross Plains.

I've been here many times - the food quality is very, very good and the prices are unbelievably low. Large serving sizes. Service is variable.

There was a Sunday buffet available as well as a menu for those who detest buffets (my wife). The service was good but one waitress was wearing a shirt that was probably a little inappropriate (it had words on it that referred to her breast size). Food was good and I would dine there again.

Stopped in for the first time when we visited Cross Plains for Barbarian Days (as in Conan!). I had the tamale plate and the wife had a combo plate. Both were good and the prices were fair. Portions were a good size. The building interior and exterior is dated, but do not let that chase you away.

I don't usually order Mexican here, I usually have Chicken Fried Steak or their special... the prices are quite good and the food is good. Nothing flash. The building is old and the seats and tables are old. The plastic handles on most of the steak knives have melted areas where they have been laid on something hot... nothing fancy... More

We arrived a few minutes before closing on a Friday night. We know that is a bad time, but we were on the road and didn't have a choice. Given the options in town and the reviews on TripAdvisor we ate here. We walked in and felt like we walked into a private party, but that comes with small towns.... More

Breakfast served all day. G&R omelet is really good and worth the money! Friday night Mexican food buffet is also really good. The staff is very pleasant.
