Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor site while on a three-day weekend trip in East Texas. The service was great the atmosphere was true East Texas country everyone was friendly. The antique shop in the rear of the cafe brought back memories.

Stopped here with a party of 10. They seated us right away and all together. The server was good and the food was good. Would stop again if in the area. Lots of desserts.

The Moosehead Cafe is a great home town cafe. They have a pretty standard East Texas menu: Burgers, sandwiches, fried catfish, chicken fried steak and daily specials like fried chicken...oh and don't forget the Bluebell ice cream for dessert! Lots of fried foods but there is a great Chef salad and I like the grilled chicken pita and baked potatoes, too.... More

We were famished and hit this place before 3:00 pm closing time but they welcomed us in like family. One-of-a-kind decor and real small town hospitality here. I think the food quality suffered because they were closing for the day. I had the patty melt--a great hamburger patty with just a dab of those great grilled onions that should have... More

The Moosehead Cafe is an experience not to be missed. Located just off of the city center in the small town of Crockett, Texas, the Moosehead Cafe is half excellent country cuisine and half tribute to the Tea Party (and conservative politics in general). The political overtones are serious but good natured. Our party included a Californian, and even he... More

We were on a road trip of the Southern states and we decided to go through Crockett instead of on the loop. We hate loops! Crockett was amazing and loved every second of our visit. The highlight of our visit to the town was lunch at the Moosehead Café. It was amazing. The burger was good, the fries, brilliant and... More

Visited here with my cousins when staying in Texas on holiday from the UK. Absolutely loved it. Food was good, service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was brilliant. Loved looking at all the 'stuff' they have around, Texan history, political bumper stickers (Republican of course!) and moose heads!!!! Definitely worth a visit.

Moosehead cafe is the epitome of country cooking at its finest! I had the daily special of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and corn bread. $7.95 that includes a drink. The food was DELICIOUS!! Not greasy and the chicken was super crispy and could tell is was fried in crisco in a skillet instead if deep fried... More

Moosehead Cafe in Crockett, Texas has wonderful Cheeseburgers with REAL hamburger meat. I had mine on an Onion Bun and it was just great. The Homemade Onion Rings are fantabulous. I had the Homemade Mississippi Mud Pie and it was divine. This was our first time to visit here. A lot of the signage in the Cafe is PRO-CONSERVATIVE, which... More

We always try to avoid chain restaurants when traveling preferring to check out the local places. So glad we chose to stop at the Moosehead Cafe. Immediately upon entering you know this is a unique one-of-a-kind place. Very nostalgic decorating with much of it reflecting the conservative values of this part of the country - re gun ownership and political... More
