Dinner

My wife & I eat at this place often. The food is really delicious, and they give you plenty of it. We prefer to have angel hair pasta with our meal, so if you want it you need to request it. Also the fried green bean appetizer is to die for. SOOOOOOO GOOD. Kinda pricy on the beer & wine,... read more

Papa Dante's is an awesome family owed restaurant. Their bread is worth going for itself! It's off the beaten path. But well worth visiting. The cannelloni is awesome!

My daughter and I ate here today and the food was amazing! I got the spaghetti and meatballs and she had Chicken Fettuccini. Both meals tasted great and the portions were so large. The garlic bread was to die for! I wasn't impressed with the sweet tea as it tasted like sugar water but other than that, no complaints. The... More

Dishes never clean. We've tried this place two times, nothing special about the food, but, the first time maybe it was just a bad day. So we went again. Our last visit my husband ordered a coffee and it had lipstick on the coffee cup. He asked for a new cup. And guess what. This was also dirty and lipstick.... More

Great food and excellent service. Small with limited seating and also have call in take out service.

When you want that old school Italian - American restaurant experience in the San Antonio area, it's worth the drive out to Converse for Papa Dante's. The floor to ceiling celebrity memorabilia make for a cheeky and fun atmosphere, but the real attraction is the food. I personally recommend the lasagna (don't skip the garlic bread!!!!) if you are in... More

Everything is excellent! Sandwiches are huge; half a sandwich is plenty. They use the finest high quality ingredients in everything. Soups, lasagne, spaghetti & meatballs are some of the best in town. Staff is courteous and efficient. This restaurant is definitely worth driving across town to experience; however, they are known to close for no reason out of the clear... More

Italian food is tough to rate but if you are looking for a family restaurant that has great ambience, this is the place. Staff was courteous and service first rate. They have some kick-butt specials for seniors for lunch which is why the parking lot is full. Come to think about it, if you assess popularity bythe size and occupancy... More

Papa Dante's has been around for as long as I can remember. I have eaten there many times over the years. I have always gotten great service. But the quality of their food has slowly gone down hill. I ordered the meat ravioli with the marinara sauce. I could not finish my meal. In a nut shell: the marinara sucked.

I had lunch here recently and enjoyed it. The sandwiches are excellent, with very fresh bread. I loved their sweet potato waffle fries. I did not order any Italian food, but I saw people who did, and I wasn't impressed with the way those dishes looked. I will probably stick with sandwiches at Papa Dante's. That being said - it...
