This chef owned restaurant is excellent! The menu features fresh local and seasonal items. The lamb chops were the best I have ever eaten. The wine list is interesting and the markup is not too high. I highly recommend 814-A Texas Bistro and plan to return if I am anywhere near in the future.

Friday night. Got a reservation after reading these reviews. Menu quite limited: choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, a couple of desserts. This is a small place with one chef doing all the cooking. Get real. This is the only way he can give each of us an excellent experience. No "pre-fab" meals. We can't be fooled---we owned a restaurant... More

After making a reservation, we opened up the menus & almost fell over for the high prices. If you want a special night out & you have the extra cash to spend, then enjoy, if not, then go to Guenther's. The atmosphere is like a small resturant as if in a large kitchen. But only open 3 nights a week... More

Got the recommendation for this great restaurant from our host at Hotel Faust. We had a lovely meal. Every course was great. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing meal at here. I had a dinner salad and the quail (which was a "starter" but worked fine as an entrée. Hubby had the salad and pork tenderloin on jalapeno cheese grits. The food was beautiful and fresh and extremely tasty. I recommend reservations because this is a small place, but this is a must if... More

Excellent food and service. Always fresh, and a great selection of wine, and fresh desserts.. Open Thursday through Sunday. Sunday is an excellent day for a charming brunch.

Gosh - it's hard to express what a great dinner dinning experience our large group had at the Bistro on High St. Reservations were made in advance and the table was preset. The entree selection was limited but every entree was perfect. I personally had salmon. It was tasty, cooked to perfection, and equal to the best I've had in... More

So this time we made a reservation (see my previous review titled The restaurant where we almost ate). Had great food and it is clear that the owners limitation is in the kitchen, not in the number of tables occupied. The result was a good meal served timely and without rush. Only issue was that the white wine was cool,... More

My friend and I had a tremendously delicious dinner at this quaint little restaurant. The pork plate (piggy platter) was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the red fish was very good, the salad was very fresh, and the chocolate bread pudding was luscious and silky. We definitely plan to return!

Our second time there. We always make a reservation because it is a small restaurant and the tables fill up. We went with another couple. Had a great bottle of wine from the local Bending Branch winery. Quiet enough to talk with no problems. Filets were cooked superbly and were an excellent beef cut. Literally could cut with a fork...
