This was our second visit to this restaurant. Both times, we were really happy with the food and the service. It is a small restaurant inside, just a few tables, but there is a patio out back. The food will not win any awards, but it is good, fresh and well made. More important is that this is someone's vision... More

We were there last night. The restaurant had been recommended to us by the proprietor of Cypress Creek Antiques. It was a little awkward when we first got there. There were only 6 or 7 tables with 3 unoccupied ones when we got there about 6:30. A young woman greeted us as we entered and asked it we had reservations.... More

Our hosts at Holekamp House recommended the 814 Bistro and made reservations for us. They were spot on that this is a great little Bistro. Chef Kuykendall's restaurant is small and his menu limited but the food, his friendliness and the service were excellent. My wife and I both had steak and it was terrific! We appreciate our hosts recommendation... More

This chef owned restaurant is excellent! The menu features fresh local and seasonal items. The lamb chops were the best I have ever eaten. The wine list is interesting and the markup is not too high. I highly recommend 814-A Texas Bistro and plan to return if I am anywhere near in the future.

Friday night. Got a reservation after reading these reviews. Menu quite limited: choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, a couple of desserts. This is a small place with one chef doing all the cooking. Get real. This is the only way he can give each of us an excellent experience. No "pre-fab" meals. We can't be fooled---we owned a restaurant... More

After making a reservation, we opened up the menus & almost fell over for the high prices. If you want a special night out & you have the extra cash to spend, then enjoy, if not, then go to Guenther's. The atmosphere is like a small resturant as if in a large kitchen. But only open 3 nights a week... More

We had an amazing meal at here. I had a dinner salad and the quail (which was a "starter" but worked fine as an entrée. Hubby had the salad and pork tenderloin on jalapeno cheese grits. The food was beautiful and fresh and extremely tasty. I recommend reservations because this is a small place, but this is a must if... More

Excellent food and service. Always fresh, and a great selection of wine, and fresh desserts.. Open Thursday through Sunday. Sunday is an excellent day for a charming brunch.
