You should know what you're in for when you go. It is old, eclectic, weird, even smells kinda funny. However, it is a good bar to have a good time, and the burgers are quite delicious. ORder at the counter and pick it up. The area around the kitchen can get quite crowded, and the hall to get from there... More

So I heard I HAD to go here, I did and was not impressed. First you order at a counter, then sit yourself, then they call your name, then you pick up your food, get your napkins and utensils seat yourself again and later clear your table. Not sure why there is a tip jar at the counter? For three... More

Anticipation was high as I had been waiting 7 years to visit The Chicken. At the entry I was greeted by loud vulgar language on the patio from young ladies - really disgusting. Order line was eventful and bartender was border line rude, The atmosphere is a pool hall & bar with loud music and loud & foul language from... More

If you enjoy cold beer, Texas music, pool or dominoes, and burgers, then this is the place for you! I like hanging out on the back porch in nice weather and watching the people go by as I enjoy good beer and great company!

We went here because a couple of folks in our group went to school at A & M and this was their hangout back in the day. The burgers were ok, the fries were ok. I don't think I would return for either of them though. Much better places to eat in town I'm sure.

Amazing chicken fried steak and cuisine of pure Aggieland. Do not miss this attraction on Highway 60. This is just across from the main campus and features many other attractions that are an easy walk to and from. Parking can be a challenge during the week, and impossible on midnight yell night, so chose your time wisely - but certainly... More

Always good to return to the Chicken on visits back to A&M. This past time for an annual conference. Attendees simply take over the place on the Monday night. It is always fun to watch the few students who are also there on what is usually an empty place Monday night stare back and wonder who all the visitors are.... More

I've heard a million stories about the Dixie Chicken and it lived up to expectations. It wasn't so much the food that attracted me, but the atmosphere. There is so much history in this place and so much to look at. Don't forget to cross the bottle-cap alley.

This was and still is more than a regular bar for people who went to Texas A&M University, so I guess this will not be a fair review since I am one PROUD Aggie, who spent countless nights at the Dixie Chicken. The restaurant/bar had a perfect layout to hang out: TV's, pool tables, table games (dominoes, etc) and the... More

If you are an Aggie, you have to come to The Dixie Chicken! Great food and Jerky! When I attended TAMU (Class of '88), there really wasn't a week that I didn't come to The Chicken. It was easy to do since I lived in Moses Hall on Northside. Shoot billiards, play dominoes and drink beer! Great fun!!
