Amazing chicken fried steak and cuisine of pure Aggieland. Do not miss this attraction on Highway 60. This is just across from the main campus and features many other attractions that are an easy walk to and from. Parking can be a challenge during the week, and impossible on midnight yell night, so chose your time wisely - but certainly... More

Always good to return to the Chicken on visits back to A&M. This past time for an annual conference. Attendees simply take over the place on the Monday night. It is always fun to watch the few students who are also there on what is usually an empty place Monday night stare back and wonder who all the visitors are.... More

I've heard a million stories about the Dixie Chicken and it lived up to expectations. It wasn't so much the food that attracted me, but the atmosphere. There is so much history in this place and so much to look at. Don't forget to cross the bottle-cap alley.

This was and still is more than a regular bar for people who went to Texas A&M University, so I guess this will not be a fair review since I am one PROUD Aggie, who spent countless nights at the Dixie Chicken. The restaurant/bar had a perfect layout to hang out: TV's, pool tables, table games (dominoes, etc) and the... More

If you are an Aggie, you have to come to The Dixie Chicken! Great food and Jerky! When I attended TAMU (Class of '88), there really wasn't a week that I didn't come to The Chicken. It was easy to do since I lived in Moses Hall on Northside. Shoot billiards, play dominoes and drink beer! Great fun!!

This is a great place to stop for lunch to get a good burger. Usually not crowded at lunch time. It gets crowded in the late evening with students there for the beer. The atmosphere is great and hasn't changed in years. This place brings back a lot of memories for my wife and I.

Took a large group of kids for lunch. Not overly crowded at this time of day and school was in the summer session. Service was friendly and fast. Really great burgers! The décor on the walls is worth the visit and the kids enjoyed seeing the live rattlesnake.

Okay - let's start off by saying that this is a bar. So the food is bar food - which is supposed to be cheesy and greasy to sop up all the alcohol you put in. If you're expecting something else, there are plenty of healthier places around the area to grab a bite. However, if you like a nice... More

We came here during lunch hour and boy it was fill to the brim! We waited in lines for almost 20 minutes before we could place an order. The hamburger meal and chicken tenders were not to disappoint. Price is very reasonable. It's a good place for hang out.

I don't think anyone goes to Dixie Chicken for the food. It's everything you'd expect in an A&M campus crawl bar...funky, eclectic and with that layer of grease and dirt that only well loved bars can earn. if I was drunk on a Saturday night the food would be great...stone sober on a Sunday afternoon it was greasy and...meh. BUT... More
