This was and still is more than a regular bar for people who went to Texas A&M University, so I guess this will not be a fair review since I am one PROUD Aggie, who spent countless nights at the Dixie Chicken. The restaurant/bar had a perfect layout to hang out: TV's, pool tables, table games (dominoes, etc) and the... More

If you are an Aggie, you have to come to The Dixie Chicken! Great food and Jerky! When I attended TAMU (Class of '88), there really wasn't a week that I didn't come to The Chicken. It was easy to do since I lived in Moses Hall on Northside. Shoot billiards, play dominoes and drink beer! Great fun!!

This is a great place to stop for lunch to get a good burger. Usually not crowded at lunch time. It gets crowded in the late evening with students there for the beer. The atmosphere is great and hasn't changed in years. This place brings back a lot of memories for my wife and I.

Took a large group of kids for lunch. Not overly crowded at this time of day and school was in the summer session. Service was friendly and fast. Really great burgers! The décor on the walls is worth the visit and the kids enjoyed seeing the live rattlesnake.

Okay - let's start off by saying that this is a bar. So the food is bar food - which is supposed to be cheesy and greasy to sop up all the alcohol you put in. If you're expecting something else, there are plenty of healthier places around the area to grab a bite. However, if you like a nice... More

We came here during lunch hour and boy it was fill to the brim! We waited in lines for almost 20 minutes before we could place an order. The hamburger meal and chicken tenders were not to disappoint. Price is very reasonable. It's a good place for hang out.

I don't think anyone goes to Dixie Chicken for the food. It's everything you'd expect in an A&M campus crawl bar...funky, eclectic and with that layer of grease and dirt that only well loved bars can earn. if I was drunk on a Saturday night the food would be great...stone sober on a Sunday afternoon it was greasy and...meh. BUT... More

Ok - If you go to visit College Station you have to go to the Famous Dixie Chicken. If you are traveling with family and kids go during the day. The beer is cold and food taste better the more you drink. This is certainly a college kid, young adults hang out when school is in session. Lots of history... More

Great for ice cold beer, chicken fried steak, hamburgers, and playing pool. It's an aggie institution, that use to serve sausage, longhorn cheddar cheese, and let dogs come in...where dominoes were the game of the day, but after 35 years still a fun place to hang out.
