We had eaten at the Cafe Eccell many times in the past and always enjoyed it, including as lately as a month ago.Good food, great help and nice uptown menu with decent prices.Yum. Last weekend we were headed to meet my brother and his college bound son there and I called to make a reservation and voila- discovered the building... More

We went to Cafe Eccell because I used to eat there in college. It hasn't changed a lot since the 90's. Still great food and service. But we found out during our visit on March 7 that their last day would be March 8, 2014. An investor bought the property and they are tearing it down to build condos. The... More

Visited this place on the last day they were opened in the historic city hall building. So glad we got to experience the strawberry tart for dessert. It was fantastic. We will be back at their new location this summer. Pizza and salads were great, too!!!!

This is not a typical Texas restaurant and their desserts are the best in the Brazos Valley. With a menu that offers everything from crab cakes to BBQ chicken pizza, you just won't find a better place to eat, or to just meet with friends over a great cup of coffee and one of their freshly made desserts

This restaurant has reasonable prices, the food is great and the service was outstanding. We had the tuna nachos and a very good salad. We will come back for sure

We were in town with our high school lacrosse team for a tournament held at A&M last Saturday (2/7/14). Happily, it was definitely not the "college town" experience I was expecting. Good quality food, nice wine list and attentive service. All of the entrees our table ordered were very good -- from the margherita pizza to the crab cakes to... More

Sparse is probably the best word for this place since they have been embroiled in their moving controversy. You now have to pay for bread -- no crackers, bread, anything when you order soup or salad. Quality of food and presentation was lacking.

This restaurant has the BEST food, so worth a visit! It's expensive for a college town, but it's really nice food. They're currently under threat y developers so it might close soon, so visit while you still can! Amazing service, so friendly and helpful, and some of the tastiest food ever!

This place does not look like much from the outside. Inside a real charm. Great food and great service. Pizza was fresh and tasty. Good wine list and the soup was amazing. Worth a detour to experience this place. Ask for Coco. He is a great server.

The signs in the lobby tout this place as having the best desserts in the Brazos Valley. The strawberry tart is awesome. The pizza is pretty good as well.
