This was our first time at the new location on Texas Ave. in the old Luby's building. The bar had an excellent selection of beers and had an upscale feel. I had a filet for dinner. We were in a large group and basically didn't get much say in how the steak was cooked--I like rare, but got more of... More

Enjoyed a fabulous meal yesterday at Cafe Eccell in their new location. Costa and his staff provided a wonderful experience to us as we celebrated Bosses Day and Jane's birthday! Everyone was thoroughly pleased with their meal. The crab cakes, pizza, and strawberry tart were my favorite.

Cafe Eccell is no longer located on 101 Church Street in College Station; it is now housed in the old Luby's location on Texas Avenue in Bryan. The new location offers a more spacious venue and better parking. The food and service continue to be good. When crowded, the place can be a little loud. Reservations are recommended.

Always thought this was one of the premier restaurants in town....but this was my first visit to find out. We sat in a table in the bar area just before a football game. Not a fancy place, casual. I think our server was fairly new. The food was ok. Greek pizza: good. Tortilla soup: ok. Lime/thai shank: very good. Mahi... More

My wife and I met some of our friends here for dinner and drinks. It had a very fun atmosphere and we had a great time overall, though it was a little on the pricey side for the quality of food that we got. The grille cheese was the saving grace, highly recommended. I also tried the gyro which was... More

This used to be an old favorite. The food and service were mediocre at best. Ribeye flavorless as was bread pudding and creme brule. We wanted so much to support the forced move they had to make to the new location. Even things like Happy hour drinks had to be in the bar which would have made our party of... More

First of all they have a NEW ADDRESS so make sure you are going to Texas Ave. A friend invited me here. The parking lot was slammed but I found a spot. The inside was huge though so even though it looked full from the parking lot we got a table without a reservation and were instantly seated. I wasn't... More

The reopened Cafe Eccell in the newly remodeled space (old Luby's) is familiar in good ways: casual but not rowdy, relaxing and uncluttered space, nice bar. I had hoped to see some new adventurousness in the menu, but it's pretty much the same one. And I was disappointed in the fact that there are television screens all over, which to... More

I was taken to this restaurant for an impromptu work lunch. We did not have a reservation, so we decided to sit in the bar, where there was no wait and access to the full menu. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Greek salad with blackened shrimp (the waiter suggested blackened, and he was spot on). It... More

Listen up Cafe Eccell fans! Many of us were sad when they tore down the historic Cafe Eccell and doubted things would ever be the same. Who would ever guess that the old Luby's could be turned into a bigger and better Cafe Eccell! They managed to keep much of the flavor of the old place but it is better... More
