I love Starbucks, but will pass it by to go to Sweet Eugene's while in College Station! It is always busy and crowded with students, but the coffee makes it worth while. They have a wide array of pastries, quiches, and doughnuts available as well. There is a wooden deck outside that is great when the weather is pleasant. My... More

Coffee is very good and the restaurant is explicitly a coffee grunge kind of approach, which mostly works (though I'd personally prefer a little less grunge....). One of the things I really like is the new (to me) offerings of crepes both savory and sweet varieties. We've had several and they're terrific all made to order when you order.

This is a place I came all the time in college...& loved it. Yes, the atmosphere is unique and cozy (if you can snag a comfy couch or chair), and visiting again with a college friend, the place is very much the same...except for the staff. My friend and I waited in line with four other customers for longer than... More

Understand up front that in a university town, Sweet Eugene's ("Sweet's," as many call it) is going to be full of students, almost any time you go there. But the ambiance and the space at Sweet's is big enough to handle that, plus give you room to reflect, work, veg, or do whatever else you do over coffee (or chai,... More

This is one of the best coffee shops that I have been to in a long time and I don't just do Starbucks. Great coffee, sandwiches, breakfast, you name it. This place is packed and has free Wifi and a great vibe. We went twice in the couple of days we were there...

Yes they serve coffee and donuts... but it is the crepes that we love. My fav: Great Eggspectations with spinach and tomatoes. Add ham and my daughter loves it too. It does get crowded during the fall and spring semesters - especially during finals. But I had a standing Saturday morning coffee date with a friend and we always found... More

Great place for a business meeting, a long visit with a friend, or to go alone and study or read that great novel you're into. The atmosphere is very cozy and gives you the feeling they want you to relax and stay a while.

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning in this excellent epitome of a college coffee house! The staff was young and nice, the food was sooooo good, as a matter of fact had I had room in my belly I would have tried every one of their crepe's. The coffee was perfect and we even picked up a couple souvenirs. If only... More

Had a very good vanilla soy latte and some oatmeal. They also stock a very good Gluten Free cookie that was new to me and delicious. The place is eclectic and fun with multiple places to sit/work. I didn't feel pressured to rush off.

In my opinion, the draw of Sweet Eugene's is more of a place to hang out, socialize, or study, rather than purely get a coffee or snack. I have met friends there on multiple occasions, some old and some new. Almost every time I have been marks a memorable occasion, and the decorative atmosphere probably contributed to that. There are... More
