Real Mexican food is a feast for the senses. From colorful peppers to the sounds of sizzling fajitas all the way to that incredible flavor. Each mouthful is just as much a result of the freshest ingredients as it is a result of the chef's expertise. Abuelo's offers diners the opportunity to experience real Mexican food, combining authentic, made from scratch classic dishes with the rich, subtle flavors of coastal and interior Mexican cuisine. Our executive Chef Luis Sanchez has spent decades perfecting our menu, and we boast a wide selection of wood-grilled fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, chile rellenos or Abuelo's unique House Specialties (depending on your location). To compliment your meal, our expert bartenders are masters at crafting signature favorites, including a wide variety of margaritas and swirls. Whatever the occasion, we'll stop at nothing to make your time at Abuelo's a memorable dining experience.

Nice Return Visit

Our return visit to Abuelo's was enjoyable. We had a very good server - Whitney - and the food was prepared as ordered. My wife had the Salmon Santa Cruz and I had the Los Mejores De La Casa, which we both enjoyed. Accompanying our meals we each had a glass of wine - Jargon Pinot Noir for me... read more

The food is always good here. Tex Mex it is, with a gourmet flair. I had the pork medallions plate and it was excellent. Came with potatoes, beans and two enchiladas (pulled pork and sour cream chicken). You can get whatever enchiladas you want. Service is always good and you dont usually have to ask for anything. Go here and... More

Always to to eat here when in College Station. Excellent drinks, shrimp cocktail was great. Prime rib that night was not as good as I have had there before but it was ok.

Thanks, Chief! It's always great to see ya. Sorry if we missed the mark on the prime rib, but I promise it'll be better next time. 'Til then, Best, Jackie GM More

After reading reviews, my spouse and I headed over with high hopes for a nice Tex-Mex meal. The waiter told us thankfully when something on the menu we were considering "was not very good" and he would not recommend ordering this or that. That being said we proceeded to order. Food did not look fresh. Greasy, Over cooked, not hot,... More

You should always have high hopes when you come our way, Kate -- that's why reading this was a real disappointment. I do appreciate your honesty, though, and I'm sorry that your server said those things. I promise that it was certainly an off night -- our dishes are made fresh to order, and if you're unhappy at all, we're... More

Maybe not the most original mexican food, but the quality is quite good. Choice is very large, you can mix and combine many dishes Portions are big and the service is very friendly.

This restaurant is nice and friendly. The food is coming out fast (maybe too fast). Unfortunately, there is just too much cheese and too much cream. There must be a way to serve good Mexican food without so much fat to it. It is sad because the place would really be good if only they would higher their cooking standards.... More

I can understand why you'd want some lighter dishes, Sylvanito, and I'm happy to report that we certainly offer them! We've got such an extensive menu -- I hope that you'll ask your server to guide you to some of our lighter options next time you visit. Personally, I recommend the Pescado Guerrero or Tilapia Veracrauz if you're avoiding the... More

Having just come from San Antonio, and a terrific Tex-Mex dinner at a local dive, this was a disappointment. Food was fine, just wasn't up to the local place in SA or even the chain in Georgetown. Marguerites were excellent and not made from a mix, and made to our order ("skinny" marguerites). Meal was quickly served, piping hot, amount... More

I'm sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations, Soars37, but if I may be frank, we're not in San Antonio or Georgetown. We enjoy serving delicious food in our own fantastic town of College Station. That said, though, I do wish we'd left you with a better impression overall, but it sounds like you did have a nice... I was with friends out to eat before going to a wedding on the next day. I found the cocktails in this place to be fantastic. If you like eating fresh tortilla chips along with three different freshly made salsas, then Abuelo's is the place for you. The ambience is family oriented and there are murals on the walls that depict life in Mexico. They also serve great tasting margaritas and if you couple that with their enchiladas, you will feel like you are in paradise.
