Real Mexican food is a feast for the senses. From colorful peppers to the sounds of sizzling fajitas all the way to that incredible flavor. Each mouthful is just as much a result of the freshest ingredients as it is a result of the chef's expertise. Abuelo's offers diners the opportunity to experience real Mexican food, combining authentic, made from scratch classic dishes with the rich, subtle flavors of coastal and interior Mexican cuisine. Our executive Chef Luis Sanchez has spent decades perfecting our menu, and we boast a wide selection of wood-grilled fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, chile rellenos or Abuelo's unique House Specialties (depending on your location). To compliment your meal, our expert bartenders are masters at crafting signature favorites, including a wide variety of margaritas and swirls. Whatever the occasion, we'll stop at nothing to make your time at Abuelo's a memorable dining experience.

Thursday night is prime rib night. To give an honest review, I have to say they have a very flavorful prime rib. However, this was the second time I've dined here and been told upon sitting that they still had the prime rib, only to have the waitress come out after I've ordered it and declare they're out. That's not... More

I would like to take the time to sincerely apologize for our lackluster service during your last two visits. It is true that on special nights, we do tend to run out of prime rib, but that should never be an excuse to give you false information. I completely understand your frustrations with having your heart set on a certain... More

Abuelos is on University Drive East a couple of miles from Texas A&M University. They have a good menu including the usual Mexican dishes and a full bar. It is in a nice area with lots of hotels nearby if you are visiting from out of town.

We're here to visit our kids and grandkids and wanted a good Tex-Mex restaurant since, for some strange reason, don't seem to exist in New Joisey and this town has loads of them. In our other visits here, we've been to many of them and were generally satisfied but this one really won our vote. Their thin, crispy, tasty nachos... More

I was delighted to discover this restaurant recently while visiting friends in College Station, Texas. I was surprised to learn that this is actually a chain, as the menu is surprisingly interesting and (I thought) unique. I selected the "Pescado Guerrero", a dish featuring wood-grilled barramundi, which is an Asian Seabass that I found to be delicious. The chef was... More

the atmosphere is very nice. Service is good, nice to have a separate dining room if needed for private functions. Also the bar area is separate from the main dining room - nice option. Food is very tasty, and reasonably priced.

This outpost of the chain has a superior interior compared to most Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa are good with three different types of salsa, two red and one green. There is an extensive menu in addition to their Tex-Mex separate section. We prefer Tex-Mex. compared to other local offerings like Lupe Tortilla And Casa Rod, their food is... More

I'm very happy you loved our decor, thank you for saying so. I'm very sorry, however, that you found our food to be average. That's not at all how we prefer to come across, as we only want you to leave completely satisfied. Please let us know if there's anything you are not completely content with, and we'd be more... Think gourmet Mexican food. They have an awesome fish dish, wonderful steak and enchiladas, yummy potatoes and is the only place I can get avocado enchiladas with cream sauce. The margaritas are great too. By far, our favorite. And it's well-decorated as well.

Abuelo's is a chain Mexican food place. Thus the meals are cooked according to a recipe that is not too spicy. I have tried enchilada's, chalupas, tamales, soups, fajitas, chili relleno and chimichangas, The cheese or beef relleno are better than average. The chimichangas with queso are as well. The fajitas are nothing special. I prefer items with cheese, their... More
