Decent Barbecue

It's no Muellers or Franklins, but for fast food barbecue, it's pretty good. The staff is always very friendly, and the barbecue and desserts are decent for the price. They give you white bread and the fixins (pickles and onions etc). I have learned not to order the sweet tea here...it has never... read more

I Stop in at least twice a week for breakfast tacos on my way to work. The brisket wrap is great, so is the staff. Quick in, quick out. OK... i was there at 700 am when they opened so not surprised by that. The restaurant is quite dated and could use a face lift, but well decorated and clean.... More

This was near our new home, we were anxious to sample Texas BBQ. This place looks a bit run down, but since several police officers were eating there, we thought we would try it. The choices were a bit confusing (chopped, sliced, etc.) but was told it all came down to one sauce. We had the chopped? beef, and were... More

The take out service was so slow once I left and told them to just forget the food. I always give a second chance but they failed to earn a third visit. The reviews for Mo's are good, but this location does not add to the good reputation. I have had dry and tough ribs and the sides were cold.... More

There is nothing like Texas BBQ. Competition is fierce. Cedar Park, unfortunately, does not have any great places for such. Smokey Smo's is just OK. A little pricy.

We had our son's groom's dinner catered for out out-of-state family and friends. ...wanted to give them the opportunity to have true Texas BBQ. What a hit! And my sister, who caters up north, left vowing to find a copycat recipe for their creamed corn. ....oh - the wedding went off without a hitch too!!

Smokey Mo's always has good BBQ, but this location does not trim the brisket as well as some others do. The smoked turkey and the sauce are still superb though.

I don't know if we hit these folks on a bad day or if our tastes are just that different but our lunch was a real disappointment. One of us had the brisket sandwich and the other the pork sandwich and both were barely room temperature. That might have been understandable if we were there at an oddball time but... More

Staff was nice (counter service) and the place was clean. The chicken and beans were good - moist and flavorful, but the brisket wasn't as good as the precooked whole briskets you can buy at HEB next door and reheat at home. Brisket was dry, not flavorful enough. Admittedly, HEB has a pretty good brisket. Seating is limited, so if... More
