Nervous to Try; Want to Go Back ASAP!

I took a chance on this spot and invited 2 friends to lunch. One has Cuban heritage so I was nervous wanting it to be good. It exceeded all expectations. Great service. Fantastic food (pork, beef, and ground beef). I even liked the plantains and I'm not a fan of those. I would definitely return.

This is a casual dinner type atmosphere. They feature real plantains (sweet or savory), black beans and rice, fried yucca. The food is filling but not highly seasoned. (I have heard that spices are hard to get in Cuba so this must be authentic). If the food were spiced better they would have a real hit. Service is average to... More

I returned to this restaurant, in this location for almost 10 years, during a recent trip to Dallas. When I lived here this was a staple for me as the food, ambiance and service were tops. This time I went on a Saturday afternoon, around 2:00 p.m., the place was by no means full, maybe 3 of the 20 tables... More

We found this restaurant by default and we were happy that we did. The place doesn't look like much from outside but has good Cuban food and friendly people. The food seemed authentic and was very flavorful and a good selection. The sampler appetizer with pork, yuca, and salty plantains were tasty. We ate tilapia, Cuban sandwich, and rica virus,... More

Every city that my family and I visit, we make sure to try local Cuban food restaurants and after evaluating over a dozen (including some in Miami, Florida) I can declare that this (along with “El Meson” in Houston, Texas) is the finest I have appraised. The restaurant itself does not look attractive on the outside and the neighborhood is... More

I drove by the restaurant tucked away in a shopping plaza. I will say the lunch portions were larger than expected but overall the prices were high for sandwiches. But the feel and the interior design of the seating area and bar room was good. Played good music as well. Nice and friendly staff. Would go back again!

My partner and I visited for lunch today. I was very excited about finding a Cuban restaurant somewhat near us. When we arrived we saw the restaurant in a small shopping center next to restaurants that looked "eh." As we walked inside, we immediately were like "oh wow.." It was really, really nice. It was simple, but elegant. The staff... More

If you like to try new restaurants, this place won't disappoint. Food was very good, I had picadillo. Cozy restaurant with a small bar.

We came here for dinner one Saturday night with our kids. The food was delicious and reminiscent of a favorite restaurant in RTP, NC. We were pleased with the options on the menu. However, there are a few draw backs: 1. Our waitress didn't bring all of our food out and seemed taken back when we asked for the remainder... More

I really enjoyed the Carribean Cafe. The Cuban bread is outstanding. The Cuban sandwich and Ropa Vieja were both great. The Cuban coffee to follow was bracing in just the right way. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The location is not in the best area to begin with and the strip the restaurant is pretty ratty. This place should... More
