Service was good but could be better - husband and wife trying to cook and serve and be hostess. Serving sizes were very large but quality was lacking for chicken dishes. Pot stickers were excellent and Crab Rangoon as well. Garlic sauce chicken was delish but sweet and sour chicken was not good, chicken was over fried. Will not likely... More

this place had gone downhill. Their meat entrees barely have meat, mainly vegetables..so beware..then we thought to give them a second chance with dimsum, we went there again. They do not list all the prices for their dimsum items. and we were charged horrendously very expensive for shrimp balls...for 2 it was $6 !! you can see customers had started... More

Tried out this place on an early Sunday afternoon. It's location is a bit off the street in a strip shopping area, near the Carrollton Plaza Supermarket (Asian grocery), and looks to have been there for several years - the decor is ok, but not fancy. They have dim sum every day, but do specialty ones and have more ready... More

STOP. Think again and perhaps try elsewhere. Dim sum is way below par, food is overcooked and sitting too long in carts due to not enough customers. The food is simply not good and overpriced. The restaurant seen better days. On the flip side, OK service. Bathroom is dirty and needs extensive cleaning. On a Sunday @ noon, no more... More

I ate here with my wife on a Sunday morning. We have enjoyed dim sum regularly for decades in lots of cities and wanted to try this place near our new home. It is a large, quite spartanly decorated place. The service was prompt and consistently attentive. They also have a very large dim sum menu. We tried the sticky... More

It was ok, that's about it. We had crab Rangoon, which was soupy in the center, orange chicken (which wasn't spicy or orange flavored) and beef and broccoli (it was good). Based on the reviews, I had higher expectations I guess, but I wont be back to this restaurant.

We ordered different dim sum options 1. Taro - tasty flaky outside with mystery meat inside. 2. Meatballs - not as tasty, missing some flavor 3. Chinese broccoli - very nicely done 4. Duck - awesome crispy and not dry 5. Curry Chicken - it was OK not great 6. Sticky rice in lotus leaf - not a fan of... More

As one person stated the first time we went there were only 2 other tables being used so we were skeptical. The hostess was very nice and our waitress went out of her way to make sure our meal was all it should be. The food is excellent. The last time we went in Feb was later in the evening... More

Our family went to Hong Kong Royal and had a great time. The restaurant is BYOB so we brought a couple bottles of wine. I have always been a big fan of their shrimp and spinach dumplings but we tried their shrimp and chive dumplings which are pan fried for a few moments after being steamed which adds a really... More

So in Dallas there are Mexican food restaurants everywhere (some better than others), there are lots of variations on Irish pubs, there are lots of sandwich shops and there are lots of basic chinese delivery places and an increasing number of fancy pizza places, but there are not a lot of places comparable to Hong Kong Royal. I went to... More
