Good food, good service

Best hamburger in the area. Very attentive wait staff. Good pies. Family friendly. Wish they were open for dinner.

I walked in 10 minutes until 2 pm. Supposedly they close at 2 but I was told they were closed. Managers discretion. They did offer to let me eat as long as it was the daily special of which they had some left. The food was ok. I have eaten here before so know that they have other selections that... More

Neat old building with a lot of history, delicious food, excellent service. We were on a family vacation and wanted to stay away from fast food. The Startz Cafe was a great choice, we left full and happy!

Little local places are our favorite places to eat. Startz Cafe looked promising! The food was pretty good but it took them 20 minutes to take our order and another 30 to get our food out to us. If you are a local, you will get served faster. We noticed people who came in after us were served and finished... More

My family and I were sitting waiting to have our drink order taken and menus, and we were waiting for 15 minutes, when another family walked in and right away had their order taken. We were not even acknowledge. It felt like we were in a 1940's era when Mexicans were not allowed in a White establishment.Like we were outsiders... More

We were staying nearby and on the first day of our trip we woke up later than intended. We stumbled upon this hidden gem which thankfully serves breakfast all day. The French Toast was amazing as was one of their omlets! Nothing fancy about the restaurant, just good home cooking. The only word of warning is that they only take... More

Definitely the place to go for a Hill Country breakfast. The best part, in addition to serving breakfast all day, you don't have to wait 45 min for a table unlike "the best breakfast" locals in SA. We have eaten here a couple times and the food has always been consistent. Eggs have always been cooked as ordered, the hash... More

Startz Cafe is a somewhat cliqish cafe for the locals. They open at the crack of dawn on most days , and the old timer regulars whom the waitresses and cooks know by name have their designated table where they will stay for a couple of hours. Shoot, on occasion, the old timers will grab a coffee refill on their... More

nice restaurant worth stopping by if you feel like having a home made food. Nothing fancy but good old fashion restaurant , seems to be there for decades. Friday night they have fish which was tasty. They only accept cash or checks.
