Old time eating

We love Casa Alda, or Helen's as is known by the locals. No frills, but good Mexican food at very reasonable price. Have enjoyed taking friends from big cities to eat there and no one has been disappointed.

We went shopping at Cabelas and wanted to have lunch in downtown Buda. We looked at all the reviews and decided to try Casa Alde. What a taste treat! My friend had the beef enchiladas and I had the chicken enchiladas. Both were really yummy. The chips were fresh and the guacamole was really thick and good. Fast, friendly service... More

There are so MANY good Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas, but often the excellent ones in little towns are overlooked. I recently overnighted in Buda, and not caring for the carb-heavy continental breakfast offered at my hotel, I found Case Alde on Google. I was the first customer early Saturday morning, right after they had opened. I ordered the Supreme migas,... More

Our hotel had a "mediocre at best" free breakfast buffet so we opted to try a restaurant nearby. Casa Alde Café was one of the choices we found on google.com. The older restaurant in the heart of old Buda was a superb selection for us. Our waitress, granddaughter of the original founder of the restaurant, was very friendly and helpful.... More

The best breakfasts in the area. Migas Supreme is not to be missed, along with the breakfast tacos. All tortillas made from scratch, by hand, every day. The Fattie is one of the best .

The fatty was awesome, everything tasted homemade right down to the salsa! It would be nice if they were open for dinner.

The title says it all. It takes all my will power to not eat their tacos daily. Helpful staff and good salsa too!

Refried beans are a staple of the mexican dish; having said that, I have been here numerous times and never disappointed with the food, except the refried beans. I don't understand why they feel the need to add water to them. You almost need a soup spoon. This seems to be the way they make them, each time I've been... More
