My wife and I ate at Sodolak's beefmasters restaurant on highway 21 in Bryan, texas today. I ordered the grilled pork chops and loaded mashed potatoes and a side of turnip greens. Just let me say they have the best grilled pork chops in the brazos valley and turnip greens were absolutely like mom's. My wife ate the fried catfish... More

We stopped in on a Wednesday night and the place was very busy.It was our first time there. After being seated we were greeted slowly by the waitress but we forgave her because it was so busy. After we were served our drinks we ordered the chicken fried bacon strips it is a must for all travelers. The iced tea was served... Tastiest, tenderest, juiciest steak that I have had in a restaurant. Service was fine. Very unassuming place that surprises and please!

When we got off the exit in Bryan, we looked around for a place to eat. The number of cars present on a Friday afternoon at Sodolak's let us know we were at the right place. We both ordered the sirloin special with 2 sides for $10.79; this meal would have easily cost triple in Houston! Steak was outstanding, service... More

This is one of the best places to enjoy an excellent country cooking. As their motto "we serve the beef not the bull", the menu covers every type of meat and method of cooking starting with the best grilled steaks through the Cc hicken fried steak (a Texas traditional dish) hamburgers (try the sourdough bun) and chickens. The service is... More

Reasonable pricing, generous portions of deliciously cooked foods. The wait staff is generally quite pleasant. It fills up pretty quickly, so if you want to avoid waiting in line, you'll want to get there either a little before or a little after peak times.

If you have sons or just enjoy a good steak or chicken fried chicken, this is THE place to go. Reasonable prices for good quality country-style food. Sweet tea in mason jars, baked potato casserole, fried okra...just like grandma used to make. For years, the lines have kept us away...no more. Sodalak's, we'll be back (and soon)!

My previous favorite Texas steakhouse was always Texas Roadhouse. Yesterday my friends took me to a "Beefmaster", which turned out to be a fantastic dining experience that I have ever had. Long lines-a typical weekend issue, but worth waiting. There is a very lovely story of their restaurant concept on top of the menu. I love the way they treat... More

Really, really good. Save room if you are going to get one of the big steaks. The small takes the whole plate plus a quarter, the medium is the whole plate plus half, and the large takes up the whole plate with another full steak on top. Steaks are cooked great, the sides are wonderful, and the atmosphere was great.... More

I've been away from Texas for 25 years but I've been to many places for Texas chicken fried steak covered in cream gravy...a specialty in the Lone Star State. This is one of the very best, the meat is tender and it's a real piece of round steak, not prefab mystery meat like you get in places that don't know... More
