If you're looking for cheap, delicious food that is quick and not fast food, you are in the correct spot. Food is amazing and affordable. I always stop here if I am in town at dinnertime.
We were in Brenham this past weekend and was looking for a nice place to eat downtown for dinner after the Uptown Swirl Event. Inside the Ant Street Inn was a nice looking restaurant...small but looked less "café/soda fountainish" than most places in Brenham. There was a short wait and we were seated and were handed menus and our drink... More
My wife and I each had steak which was cooked as we requested. There was initially a bit of a mix-up regarding our table service, but after that was sorted out we were very pleased with the service from the staff. The decor is in keeping with so many of the other historic buildings in the area and the owners... More

The bacon is wondeful and the owner told us his 'secret' of how he prepares it to taste so great and be easy too. I also see many eating dinner here and the food looked delicious although we did... Burgers are terrific; quick and friendly service. Relaxing decor, menu offers a nice variety of American, Mexican and Italian dishes at very reasonable prices. Will return on our next trip to Brenham!

There is not a chef in the kitchen, and the food tastes like prepackaged quality. I wouldn't go back to eat here except for the... More
So glad that we stopped to try this resturant! On a business trip back from Austin, we decided to stop for lunch.... and we are so glad that we did! EXCELLENT FOOD!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! A bit tricky to find, but SO worth it! Located in a historic buidling.... beautiful antiques and surroundings! We shall return!
In the heart of historic Brenham (home of Bluebell Icecream), is the old Capital Grill, now named the Brenham Grill. The owners do a pretty fair job with their Mexican food, and even have an inexpensive but limited wine list. The normal grill fare is pretty dull. We tried the fried Calamari, it was obviously pre-packaged, frozen and breaded stuff...... More
We have been to the Brenham Grill in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the food. A bit disappointed this time. The salsa is still very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak with okra and mashed potatoes. Okra is just your normal frozen fried okra. I had the carne asada - not very good. If we go again -... More
