Been wanting to try this place for awhile. It did not dissapoint! It was a beautiful day so I sat outside. I had the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich with a side of onion rings and it was delicious! An added bonus is watching the small aircraft come and go.

What a great little place! Tucked away in a building next to the runway at Brenham's municipal airport is this 1950s-themed lunch spot. Great atmosphere, nice waitresses, and solid diner-style chow. We arrived (by car!) on a Saturday morning a little after opening time (11am). We were immediately seated at one of the chrome-edged tables (the place did get crowded... More

Fantastic service, very good homecooked food, cute decor and clean. The waitresses wear these adorable poodle skirts and saddle shoes...it is like stepping back in time. Definitely a MUST to visit in the area.

Waitresses, atmosphere, service and food phenomenal! It was as if I stepped back to my teenage years in the 1950's with the large jukebox playing, waitresses wearing poodle skirts with multiple crinolines, white blouses with neckerchiefs, saddle shoes and socks, cinch belts and pony tails. I had the same pink poodle skirt outfit back in 1955 and upon hearing that,... More

I've been flying here regularly since it opened, actually before if you count an ad hoc taste test on a fuel stop. It's a favorite of my flying group because the food is good, staff is friendly and it's close. Almost too close (20 min flight) so it has become our default destination often multiple times per week. Even with... More

This has been a destination lunch location for pilots due to its location at the Brenham, TX airport. The airport ramp is very busy with arriving and departing airplanes during the hours of operation of the diner (11 am to 3 pm). However, probably the majority of patrons seem to be non pilots. This must be a very popular place... More

I flew my son and a couple of his friends into Brenham to eat here for his birthday lunch. In my experience, this is one of the best fly-in diners around. The waitresses were great. I asked our waitress if she would mind going out to the airplane with the boys to take a picture. Not only did she come... More

My husband and I stopped in this lovely diner for lunch (hours are from 11:00-3:00), and had an absolutely wonderful time! The waitresses wear poodle skirts and are all very attentive. The jukebox plays oldies music which brought back wonderful memories of days gone by. We both ordered hamburgers and they were very tasty and HUGE! In fact, neither one... More

If you are heading up to Brenham, Texas some afternoon for lunch (11-3), you have to try the Southern Flyer Diner at the Brenham Airport. The waitresses dress in poodles skirts and the burgers are 8 oz of wonderfulness, as are the homemade coconut cream pie and blackberry cobbler, with or without Bluebell Homemade Vanilla. Rumor has it that the... More

Unique and delicious! Took a group of seniors over the age of 60 and they loved it, The food was great, a variety of sandwiches, dinners, and fantastic desserts, yummy! The bobbie socks, poodle shirts, and saddle shoes give the Southern Flyer a unique atmosphere that can't be found anywhere else!!
