It is a Truck Stop! Good Hueves Rancheros

Okay let's start with it is a truck stop. For a very long time. Truck stops succeed because they have good food. It is in Boerne so it is not cheap because nothing in the Hill Country that I have seen is cheap. I figured I could find good huevos rancheros there. After all I was in a South... read more

My wife and I have family in the Fair Oaks Ranch area and we frequent Flagstop for all meals. It has that nostalgic, down South diner feel with the locals filling booths all day. We always see someone we know when we come in. The breakfast tacos are the best and though they have a drive thru, it's best to... More

When you are travelling along the interstates in America, you are tempted at every junction by the usual suspects - I-Hop, Wendy's, KFC, etc. However when you stumble across an independent like we did near Boerne, Texas then you have to take advantage. This cafe was popular with the locals which is always a good sign and the breakfast was... More

This is a truck stop cafe located on the Interstate. About 60% of the building is restaurant and the other 40% a gas station type operation. The restaurant portion was clean. It was very busy the morning we were there. You go to the counter and order as though you're at a fast food place. Ordered the biscuits and gravy along... More

We waited exactly 45 minutes for a croissant breakfast sandwich and a migas plate. And I use the term migas loosely. Being from Houston, we know good migas. This was eggs over tortilla strips topped with salsa and cheese. But my husband said it tasted pretty good and my sandwich was good. The coffee was good. But average food after... More

If you're in the neighborhood (i.e. within 20 miles of it), I highly recommend stopping by Flagstop Cafe and trying their fried chicken. Whether you "eat in" or swing through their "drive through", you can get some really great food there. The menu item my wife and I have chosen the last couple of times was their "2 pieces of... Once you leave San Antonio, there aren't a lot of options, and the Flag Stop is a great choice for a robust breakfast. There are lots of options, lots of combinations, traditional and Tex style breakfast burritos. The biscuits are the size of a large fist, everything fresh made - also very fast. The serve-yourself coffee is actually pretty good.... More

i use to eat here several times a week starting in about 2009 and it was good, over time the service has really gone down hill. the food is still good if you go at lunch time but not so much at dinner. today at lunch the time in line to order was about 5min then 36 min for the... More

If you want to remince of the old highway greasy spoons, this is the place. It's not cheap, so go to revive the memory only. There are lots of better places to eat nearby for better value, service and taste. But, it does serve its purpose and there's something comforting about sitting in the window watching the cars go by... More

All decent homemade food. Good service. Was traveling in RV with tow vehicle and parked in back away from everyone. There were some undesirables back where we parked and they were blocking my RV and eying up my new tow vehicle. I had to ask them to move so I could get out but they were stalling like they were...
