I learned of Little Gretel on a recent flight home where I met the Chef. I love German food and had high expectations which were definitely met. The beer selection was modest, but had excellent choices in draft. I ordered the duck which was very tasty (and a treat on a Texas menu) and the sides were perfect - the... More

The chef at Little Gretel is listed among the "Greatest Chefs in America" by fellow chefs. Perhaps she is wonderful, but our meal was mediocre and the service was terrible. The sweet waitress was the ONLY server working at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. We never got our water glasses refilled and my mom had to reorder twice, because they... More

I have eaten here a few times and overall it has been a good experience. Recently stopped for lunch and since the weather was nice, picked out a table on the patio under an umbrella. There is a little noise from the traffic but not so much that you can't carry on a conversation. I ordered the Roast Pork Lunch... More

I had lunch and not many other customers were there at about Noonon Friday. I ordered the Monte Chisto sandwich. The menu called for cheese. There was none on my sandwich. I pointed it out to the waitress and she apologized. She said she would talk to the manager. Then she came back and said the chef was going to... More

We had breakfast at Little Gretel while vacationing in Texas. Service was slow the food was good but not worth the wait or the price we paid. 37.00 for yogurt parfait, egg omelet and pastry

I had breakfast at Little Gretel once when they were hosting a group of Czechoslavakian chefs - I was so blown away by the flavor and quality of the food that I could hardly wait to go back. Went last week and I was so disappointed!!! Our waiter was awesome but the food was horrible: I ordered the half Reuben... More

Food is great. Service is slow and leaves you wanting. Servers are nice enough, there is either an inefficiency in the kitchen or with mgmt. Took 30 minutes for an egg omelette with a 70% full restaurant and no wait....

There was one waitress trying to take care of a busy restaurant, so we couldn't fault her. She was harried, and hence, not the friendliest. We had a Belgium waffle and it was very good. Also, the yogurt parfait is excellent.

On June 13th we had an early dinner at your restaurant. Everything was great. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant. From what we read or at least attempted to read in regards to that last negative comment it seems as if that customer doesn't like the younger generation. All the employees were very courteous to us. Robert R should... More
