Great little hometown place

Great breakfast and great coffee. Try one of the different versions of the eggs Benedict. Everyone there is always friendly and welcoming as you would expect in a small town.

A friend recommended trying this for breakfast or lunch. I went for lunch. It was delicious. I had a vegetable quiche that came with fresh melon and watermelon . The quiche had a great flavor, and a good crust. The filling was mushroom and spinach. It was seasoned perfectly. My husband had a greek salad that was huge. It had... More

We were in Blanco for a wedding and needed a place to have breakfast, we went in not expecting much and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was really, really good. Our favorites were the french toast and eggs benedict. The staff was super quick and extra friendly and the prices cannot be beat!

This restaurant is south of historic downtown Blanco on the east side of the road. It was worth looking for. I ordered the Pork Loin Plate & every single item on the plate was mouth watering good. The natural brown gravy, the real mashed potatoes, the flavorful green beans & even the homemade roll were each a delicious taste surprize.... More

Yes everything is home made and tastes that way. Don't expect that to happen in an instant- the taste is worth everything- we did Tilapia & Meat loaf specials- big portions fresh veg on site made roils. Yummy- bring the toddler.

I've eaten breakfast here maybe 5 times in the past two years and the food has been consistently delicious- very fresh, creative dishes, homemade bread and very friendly service. Quaint, clean, a little small but have joined a party of 11 and were comfortable, treated great and served timely. Their breakfast makes it my Blanco favorite!

Set in a converted house, the Chess Club Cafe offers excellent food, local people-watching, and wonderful service. Had they not been closed on Mondays, our last day in Blanco, we would have eaten there every day of our stay.

Ate lunch Sunday 2015-03-01, arrived at 1305. Paid $19.38 before tip. Ordered pork loin and chicken fried steak dinners. Pork came with brown gravy; chicken fried steak came with white gravy. Both meals included mashed potatoes, green beans, and roll with butter. Pork was cooked ok and fair taste. Chicken fried steak was blah - not repeatable. Potatoes were thick... More

There is not much room for parking or many tables, but the food is fantastic. I regularly get the chicken-fried steak/chicken and it is some of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot of great ones growing up in central Texas). The salads are healthy and well done. The sandwiches are delicious and large and my wife... More
