Best Chicken Fried Steak anywhere

My husband loves the chicken fried steak, I love everything else. There isn't one thing on the menu that isn't wonderfully crafted and delicious. Thanks Steve and Emily!!

My wife and I stopped in for late lunch here on a trip to LBJ park and had one of the best lunches we've eaten in Texas. She had a chicken salad sandwich with broccoli cheese soup and I had gumbo and a shrimp sandwich. Both fresh and both very delicious. Menu is just the right size and pastries on... More

Small restaurant in a renovated house just south of downtown Blanco on Highway 281. Good service, fine food, easy to get a good meal for less than $10. Hours are a bit odd -- Tuesday through Saturday, breakfast and lunch only, closes at 2:00. Omelets are a standout for breakfast, lunch menu features hearty servings of staples like meat loaf.... Stopped in for lunch to see what a Number One rated eatery is like in Blanco. Wow, were we impressed. Loved the casual feel of a house recreated as a restaurant. Great mix of locals and visitors. Menu has something for everyone, and there were also many specials. Service was great and our meals the best. Glad we're in town... More

Lunch on a Tuesday. They were managing limited space quite well. Getting tables cleaned quickly and customers seated. I had one of the speciala, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. The green beans were fresh and had purple onion and good seasoning. Mashed potatoes were home made, as was the roll. Gravy very good too. Fresh iced tea,... More

Finally: a chef who knows his seasonings and isn't afraid to use them! This is an old house, made into a very quaint restaurant with a homey feel. Friendly service, and really good desserts to choose from. Reasonably priced; ample portions. Well worth stopping in.

I've only been here for lunch and it's a charming little place in an old house with each room set up as a separate dining area. Sandwiches are absolutely huge - one sandwich can be shared by two and bread, which is homemade daily, is realllly good. The only quibble I have - and it is just a quibble -... More

Lunch. Brunch. Whenever... never disappointed with food or service, and in fine weather sitting outside can be an added treat, especially for brunch. Unpretentious, this place always pleases with a surprisingly full menu that includes healthy choices.
