Stopped here purely by chance while passing through Blanco on the way elsewhere. The meal was excellent. Service was good in spite of a very busy time (every table taken and people waiting). Bread was baked on site and was really good. Limited menu, but enough options for most anyone.

This is certainly a lucky find! Will plan my hill country travels around Blanco Texas and the awesome food/service. The Springer's.

We had to work hard to find the Chess Club Cafe the first time, but finding a yummy breakfast was worth the search. The venue is a 100-year old house turned restaurant and the food is really good. We had the migas (scrambled eggs with salsa, onions and diced tomatoes) and biscuits and gravy. The portions are generous. The wait... More

After discovering that there are surprisingly few breakfast options in Blanco, we found the Chess Club, and we were glad we did. It is a smallhouse, with a smaller kitchen, but they really do a good job with breakfast. Especially if you, like me, love poaced eggs. Try this place.

This place, by far has the best eggs benedict on the Texas Hill country! The portions are generous, delicious and the service is with a smile. Very good!

Great & friendly service and great food. We sat outside for brunch on the old porch that fit the atmosphere of the hill country. Very quaint.

Get here early if you want a table!! It fills up fast, for a good reason -- great food and reasonable prices!! Don't miss it!!

Met friends for breakfast in Blanco on a Saturday morning. There was a 30 minute wait, as it is a very small place. The wait was worth it. Their toast is made with homemade bread. The eggs benedict were awesome. Good service. I think almost everything on the breakfast menu was less than $8.00.

Quaint little restaurant with nice well thought out dishes. Clean family atmosphere and sometimes there is a guitarist adding to the pleasant surroundings
