Loved the BBQ! Ribs are very tasty, brought some home with us! :) The service was awesome! They checked on us and we even got complimentary homemade ice cream! Haven't had homemade ice cream like that since I was little. Would definitely stop by again if we passed through sometime!

Brisket sandwich is always good. Do not forget the potato salad. Love the potato salad. ALS is one of the best places to eat in big spring.

I highly recommend the catfish and the chicken. The home style fries were not that good. Potato salad is good.

Sandwich and drink was $12-$15.00, was overrated for the price. I made a comment and the lady said, so go somewhere else and since than I have. I live here and can get more appreciation for my $$ elsewhere.

As visitors from Canada, we thought barbecue meant cooking meat over hot coals. So we stopped when we saw the Al's & Son Bar-B-Q sign. We discovered that what was on offer was a variety of slow cooked and smoked meat that was very tender and tasty. I chose the ribs and was very pleased. My husband had the braised... More

Ordered the brisket with 3 sides. Brisket nothing special, maybe a little dry and for me, overly smoky tasting, but there wasn't a smoke ring. The sides were very disappointing and somewhat limited. Of everything on my plate, I found the carrots were the best tasting item..... Kind of sad for a BBQ joint. Won't be going back...

We needed a quick place to eat as we traveled.... As BBQ fans, we expected good West Texas really great food. This place just did not get it. Friendly staff, but this did not make up for the mediocre food served. Sorry...this place did not do it for us....disappointed travelers!

This is a cafeteria style restaurant with sides available for the dipping and based on the meal that you bought. There is free vanilla bean ice cream provided by the wait-staff (vanilla flavor is very strong). I had the chopped beef sandwich--it is good-sized, flavorful and filling.
