I like it better than anyone elses in Belton

I have found nothing that they offer not to be of good quality and taste. Now that they have upgraded the serving area it is even better. I like the quail, potato salad, and coleslaw. I drive from Copperas Cove just to eat there.

I had the pleasure of having bar-b-que at Schoepf's Old Time Bar-B-Que in Belton, Texas (702 Central Ave, Belton, TX, Exit 294B off of I-35). Texas bar-b-que is a wonderful experience and Schoepf's does a great job of it. The brisket was moist and tender with a flavor of the heat over which it was cooked. Besides brisket one can... More

It's been a while since I've been in this part of the country and when I had to spend the weekend in Dallas, I took the opportunity to drive down to Belton and get some barbecue! This place has consistently great barbecue and a selection that should make anyone happy. Add the excellent home-style sides and this is my favorite... More

This place is popular for visitors to the Belton area. Staff is fantastic and service is good. Food is average and pricey. Homemade sausages, brisket, turkey, chicken with all the fixin's is offered as well as beer. I personally find the meats on the dry side. Although it is not my favorite BBQ it is certainly worth checking out.

I was impressed by the big pit and it's delicious selections. The moist brisket was great. Pork ribs were on point. And the bacon wrapped jalapeno stuffed quail was very good. Also the sides were great overall enjoyed this experience.

Fabulous food, friendly staff, my favorite place to eat! I go here at least twice a week and I've never had a bad meal. If you want great Texas BBQ, then this is where you need to go!

Stopped in for barbecue at Schoepf's with a big group, which was easily accommodated. The food was incredible (brisket and quail especially!) and the staff were great. The owner even came out to talk with us a bit about the history of the restaurant. Highly recommend when in the Temple area.

My husband and I went there for lunch the other day and we had high hopes for the place. I’ve heard a lot good things about the restaurant from people around town. Unfortunately we were both hugely disappointed. When we went in the front door, that isn’t very well marked and we were greeted by a somewhat friendly meat carver.... More

We stop in here about once a month. The food and service is always superb and the atmosphere is always enjoyable. The BBQ sauce is always warm and they we like.

Schoepf's is a very good, local family-owned bbq spot. You enter the first room, where you pick out the meat you'd like (I had the smoked chicken), then you enter the second room to pick the sides, pay, and sit. The chicken was nearly perfect, with an outstanding, tangy sauce. I loved the sides, too (potato salad and cole slaw).... More
