We love the Dead Fish Grill! They definitely have the best view in town, overlooking the lake! The food is quite tasty, although a little pricey.

Get an outside table if weather permits. Great view of Lake Belton. Beer is cold and mixed drinks are good. Food varies from upscale bar food to a few really nice items. Great place to unwind after a busy day.

The atmosphere at Dead Fish is really nice and at sunset is a nice place to have dinner. The food is good/okay, but not as good as the price would suggest. The appetizers platter was realy good and a good value. The wine list is limited and overpriced for the few options they offer. Bar drinks were okay and really,... More

Service was frightful but the food was worse. The view is wonderful and it is close to home but I would rather stay home that go back.

Saw on Kirk Baxley's website that his band was playing tonight. Checked the Dead Fish site and saw band was to start at 830. It's 915 and they had some chick playing for thirty minutes. Very busy tonight so this place must be doing something right. Kudos to the management. Joey as always is a great server and very attentive... More

This was recommended by some friends in Harker Heights. It was very busy on a Friday night. The wait was about 30 minutes. The menu is diverse with many seafood choices. My grouper was very good. My only complaint was how long it took to get decaf coffee though ordered with drinks it did not come until the meal was... More

My date and I enjoyed a nice table by the patio. Weather was cold outside so the mid room fireplace kept us warm. We started with an appetizer sampler with a couple of frozen margaritas (our server's recommendation). My date had the Shrimp Enchiladas and I enjoyed the Cajun Chicken. The enchiladas were delicious and filling. The Chicken was nice,... More

This restaurant has lovely views of Lake Belton, unfortunately the food isn't very good. I've been there on multiple occasions and never had a really bad meal but I've never had a good one either. It's rather disappointing because I really want to love it, the venue is laid back, the views amazing, the service friendly. Unfortunately I always leave... More

This is a nice place to enjoy a drink and an appetizer. It sits right next to the dam and has a wonderful view. I thought the food was average , but the atmosphere and location pull it to a very good rating.

Unfortunately, the biggest thing I remember about this restaurant was the army of small red ants that had invaded our table. Even after bringing it up with the wait staff, the ants remained at large. I attribute this to poor sanitation (i.e. food crumbs everywhere brings the ants). Anyway, the food was fine. My wife and I agreed that we... More
