Description: This should be easy to find. They have a website. One of the best steaks that I have had. As good as any of the big steak restaurants in Chicago. The service was excellent. We were in Bastrop for the first time. I hope to get to go back and eat at Haslers again. Mary Anne Gardiner Grayslake, IL hr_mag@comcast.net

The name of the restaurant is NOT Haslers Brothers anymore, it's Piney Creek Chop House. The steaks are pricey but gorgeous. Order the blue cheese sauce...

My wife and I weren't sure what to expect. It is an awkward location for a steakhouse, and it normally looked empty. It was some of the most tender steak I have ever had! The service was very attentive, and they were very sensitive to food allergies. The wine and cocktail selection is very reasonable. The atmosphere isn't as nice... More

My wife and I were in Bastrop, Texas, staying nearby at the Hyatt lost pines resort for a recent conference. We stumbled into this restaurant to find Leah, our server, to be so nice, very happy to be there, a great server. She made a few recommendations... We could sense her pride in the restaurant and the food right away.... More

A group of us had dinner here while staying at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort (since we wanted to try some local food away from the resort). Service was friendly, attentive and helpful. The menu selections are nice without being too overwhelming with too many choices. From the comments of our large group, everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I... More

Had the lamb chops and they were excellent. Service was great - our glass was never empty. A little on the expensive side but well worth every penny. Loved the atmosphere - very romantic. Will keep this on our favorite date night or special occasion list for sure.

This is the perfect place for date night. It is quiet and has a nice atmosphere. The steaks are always great quality and tender enough to cut with a fork. The only downside is it is pricey, but I have never been disappointed.

We went for a nice dinner hoping to eat local, we went in and ordered a bottle of champagne and the waiter ( that was so very rude) argued with us about what we wanted. We waited and waited for someone to take our order, when we finally got a chance they were out of everything we asked for! (We... More

After running in to the owner one day on the sidewalk and being told that the steaks were fork tender, we made plans to visit Hasler Brothers Steakhouse for a special occasion during it's rather limited hours. We chose to visit on our anniversary arriving at about 6:30 pm. The weather had been in triple digits that day and quite... More

I returned for sushi and it took 2.5 hours to order, receive, eat, pay for two sushi rolls, a ceasar salad, and lobster bisque. We arrived at 5:30pm and there were only 5 tables, 3 of them were couples. A "big" party of 6, plus the 4 of us. The lobster bisque deserves 5 stars on its own, but the... More
