Loved the atmosphere of old casual western. We shared a delicious hamburger and crispy hand battered onion rings. I heard or read that the chocolate merengue pie was good but we were too full. Breakfast menu looked good also. There was a nice salad bar we didn't have a chance to try. The bar stools were saddles which looked fun.... More

This is the Sunday drive place my Mom & Dad have liked to eat at for the last twenty years, so going here is a nostalgic visit for me. My Mom has long since passed, but I took my Dad here for a an afternoon outing recently. It's a nice drive from San Antonio out to Bandera and well worth... More

If you're in Bandera then a stop at OST is a must. Have some enchiladas in the John Wayne room, or a hearty breakfast, and you'll be satisfied. It's not exceptional food, but consistently very good, and the service is generally excellent. The decor is what's not to be missed, saddles at the bar, the Duke shrine, and a generally... More

The historical appeal with its quirky décor is undeniable. Where else will you find saddles for bar stools? But after all, it is the heart of cowboy country so it makes perfect sense. Good for the proprietors for thinking of it and executing it so well. The food is better than what I had expected. Its TexMex isn't the quality... More

Simple hearty fare, good portions, good service. Decor old west. Bar on one side with saddles for seats. Didn't have a drink as it was too early in the day. Buttermilk pie for dessert was delicious.

The service was good but the food wasn't great. Large portions with very little taste....fairly bland food. We went because it is a long established restaurant and we were told it was good but it didn't do much for us unfortunately. We wouldn't go out of our way to visit again.

They easily accommodated our group of 6 for a late breakfast on a Sunday. Service was great, food was excellent, pricing was very reasonable. I would say this is the place to eat in Bandera. Especially after backpacking the Hill County State Natural Area, which we had just done.

We had late breakfast on a Sunday. Everyone enjoyed their meal. A ribeye was slightly overcooked but was good. My Cowboy breakfast very good and will definitely make OST a stop traveling through Bandera.
