We stopped here with a party of 6. My wife and I ordered the patty melt with my wife is very picky about and we both thought it was delicious and she thought it was the best she ever had.

I ordered chicken and dumplings which I found to be quite tasty, but the portion was very small. I would guess no more than 300 calories worth of food in the dish. It came with a biscuit and crackers. I did not like the biscuit (flat tasting) and did not eat it. My wife ordered a bacon and tomato sandwich.... More

The food was very good, more of a southern home-cooked country style. Prices weren't too bad either. But the atmosphere and the really friendly staff made the place very comfortable and nice. We enjoyed ourselves even if it was for a quick lunch! Highly recommended!

My husband and I stopped at the shops and decided to eat lunch. We had stopped by there once before with friends and remembered it was good. Today's visit wasn't as good. The restaurant is small with a country theme. Most of the tables were full and people seemed to be enjoying their lunches. The ladies behind the counter were... More

The lunch was a little over priced. The food was good, but NOT exceptional. My wife's egg sandwich was pretty greasy as well as my grilled bacon & cheese sandwich. Nothing special about the meal. Their "famous" fried pies were not very tasty either. The pie had a lot of dough and not much filling. Over priced.

There are several shops to stop when visiting the Apple Valley Kitchen. Food is good, fudge is fantastic next store. If you want different items local to the community this is a neat place to stop.

The cowboy nachos were very good as well as the BLT...We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. There are nice shops to visit while there.

Heading to Cades Cove we decided to grab lunch in Townsend right before entering the park. Arriving in town we found ZERO restaurants open at the time so we just kept driving luckily we stumbled across Ape Valley Kitchen right before turning around. Heading inside we thought we had just entered a simple snack bar and would be lucky to... More

We just stopped by to take a break and had a fresh cup of coffee and one of their fried apple pies. Brought back a lot of memories of growing up, with the fresh pie, crisp crust and tasty. Just a nice experience, and the rest of the menu looked very good as well. Wish we had been there at... More
