Excellent Fried Pies!

Good food, super friendly service, and don't skip the fresh fried pies and cinnamon ice cream! We stopped in for an early afternoon supper and were not disappointed. BBQ tasted just as good as it smells when you pull up! Chicken salad was good too. FRIED PIES!!! Did I mention the fried pies... read more

I've had a tradition for years: every time I camp in the great smokey national park I stop into Apple valley to pick up an apple pie. I considered it the best apple pie anywhere. Fresh, crisp apples and a perfectly flaky crust. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I stopped in for the first time in years to... More

Jameshlavac, you are mistaken: we have NOT changed or downgraded the apple pie filling and the pie shells have NOT changed AT ALL They are being prepared in the exactly the same way they have been for years and years. We wouldn't "mess" with the top selling product at Apple Valley Cafe. Furthermore, the comments we are receiving from customers... More

While staying at the Dancing Bear we had lunch one day and breakfast another. Nice atmosphere. You could eat inside or outside. You order your food at the counter, get a number and then they deliver to you. Get your own silverware and coffee. Food was very good, coffee was great! Also was quick if you wanted it to be!

We stopped here for lunch before we hit The Laurel Valley Golf Course. I had the BLT with french friesand hubby had the BBQ sandwich with fries. Mine was really good and hubby's was good too but tasted like it had been microwaved but still tasted good. We bought some coffee and a few things in the gift shop. The... More

Goldrushjunkie, thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your meal and hope you had a good round of golf after. We cook our burgers on the grill, so not sure why it tasted microwaved, as you put it. We certainly hope our guests will let us know if an item is not completely to their satisfaction. Hope you are... More

Me and my family visited Townsend for the first time ever to escape the craziness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We stumbled across this place by accident and decided to have lunch. I wouldn't say the food was the best I ever had in my life, but it was hot and tasty for the price. The pulled pork was awesome... More

Went to pick up breakfast this morning. Before I went in I noticed there were now beer signs and a beer garden. The music playing outside was modern soft rock and the same music was playing inside, The atmosphere is different and NOT in a good way. The restaurant used to play dulcimer music. The freestanding display with the jellies... More

Roy, We regret that you do not agree with our decision to offer beer to guests who enjoy a cold beverage with their food. We do work to preserve a family friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, but some are offended by the display of any beer products even in their local grocery store. We respect your feelings on this... More

The shops are worth going in and seeing the different things you can buy. We didn't go and it but I'm sure it's worth it.

After hiking in the Smoky Mountains my brother and I stopped for lunch at Apple Valley Cafe. I had the smoke pork sandwich with cole slaw and fries. My brother had fried egg with sausage and a biscuit. We ordered our food at the counter and sat at a table while awaiting our food. When it arrived the pork sandwich... More
