Friendly Service!

We loved the friendly service we received at the Cafe. The waitresses came to check on us several times, even though we were sitting outside on the porch. Our food was pretty tasty, but slightly more expensive than I would have liked. We had smoked pork sandwiches and mine had a tough piece. The... read more

We went to the Apple Valley Gift Shop and bought a pound of fudge. The servers were very friendly and let us taste before buying. I also bought a bottle of Blueberry Cider. They had several different flavors including blackberry, strawberry and just plain apple.

Stopped in to check out the shops and have lunch. Nothing special in the shops, waste of time. My husband and I decided to try the lunch, biggest mistake of our entire vacation. That should tell you something! The staff was very friendly... the only good thing. We ordered the BBQ sandwich plate with fries. The sandwiches had a good... More

AerOn, thanks for your comment. Sorry that we weren't able to seat everyone inside but we hope that you still enjoyed your experience with us. We added the additional portable toilets this year so you can imagine how much that has improved that part of stopping by. The wait isn't as bad during non-peak travel seasons, but we hope it... Enjoyed the breakfast here- my husband and I both had pancakes. They had sugar free syrup. I also had their yogurt with granola and fruit. Everything was great! Also enjoyed the bluegrass music while eating. We will eat here again! Cute shops attached for after eating fun!

We stopped for lunch after touring through Cades Cove. There's a menu posted on the porch, as well as outdoor seating, but you have to walk up to the counter to order. My husband & I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches which came with red barbecue sauce on the side. Our vegan daughter liked the black bean burger while our... More

Julie, glad you enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches. I see you are from Columbia, sorry we did not have the yellow barbecue sauce for you. Pleased to hear your vegan daughter was happy with her black bean burger. You'll have to come back to see us for more fried apple pies so we can raise your rating to five stars!... More

Went with the family for breakfast and we are glad we did. The place was very clean for how busy it was you walk up to the counter and they bring your food to your table. Everyone was friendly and had smiles. We enjoyed the biscuits they were really good also the Apple spice jelly we tried we ended up... More

Meh nothing really stood out here for us. We were hoping to get some good food because of the reviews and the only good was the service. Our meals were ok the chicken was way over cooked, and the breakfast wasn't anything to write home about. In my opinion, this is one, that I can say "I've been there". I... More

ReneaBK, we’re glad that you found the staff friendly and liked the atmosphere. We do regret that you were not entirely satisfied with your chicken or the breakfast, but it is helpful to know areas we should work on to improve. We hope you will dine with us again on your next trip from Memphis to the area. More

We arrived later than anticipated for our stay at Dancing Bear. We had just unloaded the motorcycle when I noticed how late it was. I quickly called down to the café which was about to close and asked if I could order two chicken salad sandwiches to go for our dinner. Without hesitation she said she'd have it ready in... More

Thanks for your comment. Glad we were able to serve you. You can't really get full enjoyment out of a stay in a luxury cabin if you're hungry! You'll have to try the new Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro opening next month. Looks to be pretty amazing. We're proud to have them as neighbors. More

We found the food to be pretty good. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich. She said it was made the "right" way. That's female cook talk I guess I had the burger. The fried Apple pie was very good too!

We had heard from many locals that the fried apple pies were good so we just had to try one for ourselves. It is heaven, soooo good! Well worth it.
