It was recently announced locally that the Dancing Bear would not rebuild and reopen the restaurant portion of the business after the fire that destroyed it last fall. The cabin rentals will remain open.

Sadly, the Lodge and restaurant were completely destroyed by a fire November 2013. I have heard that the owners plan to re-build, but no date has been announced yet. Individual cabins on the property are still available for rent.

We love eating and staying at Dancing Bear. The food is always wonderful. Those cheese puffs are divine. Have never had a bad dish after many, many visits. Probably the best pork chops we've ever had.

We ate one night at the Dancing Bear. It is a restaurant in the Dancing Bear lodge. We did not have reservations here and when we arrived they seemed to indicate that we would have to wait because they were full. There were a few tables open that we could see, but they said those were reserved for guests of... More

We stayed at the lodge for our anniversary and made dinner reservations at the restaurant. We had a lovely table beside the fireplace. The entire meal was delicious! From drinks to dessert. We began with the charcuterie plate. The ham and mustard were our favorites. My husband had a romaine salad and I had the apple salad. My salad was... More

We wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with friends, but didn't want the typical tourist trap food you'd find in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. After reviewing the TA website, I decided to look at the Menu and boy was I glad I did. This place is wonderful! The best meal we had during our 5 day stay in the Smokey... More

The food was excellent. A gem in the woods. Will definitely visit again. The lodge atmosphere is quiet and upscale. The "in jars" appetizer is very unique. We both had the New York strip and is was cooked perfectly.

Delicious appetizer! They were very accomodating of my vegetarian diet and came up with something yummy. Husband had the NY Strip and said it was delicious. Good wine, overall nice experience.

We are staying at The Dancing Bear. We only made reservations for one night but after last night's dinner we decided to come back tonight. Last night I had the New York strip with mushroom risotto and my husband had the trout with shrimp & grits. Both were excellent. Tonight my husband had the New York strip and I had... More

My wife and I were staying in a cabin in Townsend, and visited the Dancing Bear for dinner with friends. All four meals were excellent, as usual. (We have eaten there before). I had perfect duck breast, and the others had pork tenderloin and trout. All were very good. The appetizer (enough for all four) was the "in jars" pimento... More
