For lunch

We stopped here on our way from Chattanooga to Knoxville as recommended by a friend. The restaurant was not large, but nice. I disagree with a previous review about the chicken salad, It was really good. Not many places in the DC area make it and I was very happy with my meal as was my husband... read more

It was only a few minutes untill closing as these two old antiques asked on this record setting hot day in June. Heat exhaustion was definitely seeing in when we knocked on the cafe door. A friendly gentleman answered "Certainly we will serve you. Have a seat and rest a while. Enjoy! " An hour later and several refills by... More

Great food , great staff. Everything on the menu has been above average quality. The cookies ,cakes etc. are all made from scratch and are HUGE. I would like to see better opening and closing hours.

Stopped by for lunch, really awful chicken salad not as advertised, plain and ordinary! Chicken club boring. Food took a while , not sure why.

Apparently they are open for dinner on Friday and Saturday only. (Every day for lunch 11A-4PM) We went for dinner on Friday and it was GREAT. Returned on Saturday, sign said open but they were actually closed. ( I found this a common problem in Sweetwater - at other places - list open times but change them on a

I enjoyed a nice, leisurely lunch at Hunter's recently. It's a good thing I had plenty of time for lunch, as service, while attentive, is that sweet, southern slow service that this Yankee can't quite get used to. This old, historic building takes advantage of high ceilings, a windowed wall separating the entrance from the dining area, and great walls,... More

After finding out The Mansion was closed, we were told that we should try the Hunter. The Hunter is a converted bank that shares space with an antique store. I believe their specialty is for lunch offering sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. The soup and sandwich were good. The service was prompt and good (probably the owner). It served the purpose... More

Lunch was really tasty and service was good. Beautiful antique touches are simple and tasteful, The front of the restaurant is the bakery section open to all, not just restaurant patrons so you can stop in for some yummy pasties, cookies and more even if you are not stopping for a meal. A warning - once they have sold out... More
