Overall/Background: Camping in the smokies for a few weeks and took my wife, two kids (2 yo girl and 5 yo boy), and my parents here after visiting the Forbidden Caverns. It was a wonderful day. This is an absolute gem and the fact that it is right next to Forbidden Caverns is a huge plus. Made... read more

This place was fantastic. We stopped by English Mountain after spending the afternoon horseback riding through the mountain over at Deer Farm Riding Stables. They give you a pole and bait, and you generally catch a large trout in less than a minute. It's so easy my kids, ages 4 and 6, caught all five trout! Along with two sides... More

While visiting the Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains we decided to take the drive to English Mountain for some gem mining and a trout lunch. We arrived hungry, which was a good thing because my son caught 2 very good sized rainbow trout. We had them fried and blackened. Meanwhile, as an appetizer we had the opportunity to try... More

After visiting Forbidden Caverns, we stopped here for lunch. We had our two boys do the fishing. They caught 4 fish in no time. We chose the three different ways to cook it, blackened, lemon peppered and fried. Our favorite was fried, the other two were too salty for us, but it was delicious. A great time for the family.

This is the third time we have come to eat here over the past two summers. They are family owned and very friendly. The service was great and the food was amazing every time. The blackened trout is my favorite and the catfish is a very close second. My wife, who doesn't like fish, even loves the catfish. You can... More

The highlight was the kids fishing. A very limited menu with most everything frozen and fried. No came to check on us after we were eating and had to wait about 30 minutes to get drink refills. Cash only also.

How many places can you go where you catch your own fish and get it cooked for you? Man, I tell ya. Best PoBoy sandwich outside of New Orleans. Very friendly staff.

It cool to have neat memories while on vacation. English Mountain Trout farm is an opportunity to create such a memory. I got to catch my own beautiful rainbow trout. After taking photos, they took it,cleaned it, and fries it fresh along w/ hush puppies and some tasty sides. Take your kids, they'll love you for it.

4 kids under 6 years old, 4 fish caught and fried. Gem mining made waiting for lunch fun. Great finale to our Smoky Mountain week
