After visiting La Carreta, the nearest I can figure is that La Carreta means "the armpit". I have never had worse Mexican food in my life. The food is OK but the servers are not too attentive and a bit rude. Also the bathrooms are not clean and there are flies around often. Its funny how people say its the "Best mexican restaraunt in the smokies' because its actually one of the ONLY mexican restaraunts in the smokeys. I find that sad. Id love some more... more

We visited La Carreta twice during our stay the last week of May 2008. It's the only restaruant we visited twice while vacationing in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. It was just that good! We ate here on 7-18-07 and had the Tacos Carne Asada. This was the best we had this side of the Mississippi! I am a native of Southern California and have also lived for several years in Arizona.
