Want to go back and try more dishes

Went with a large group and the service and food was very quick which was great. Everyone found something that they liked. Would suggest that they change their menu to one without pictures. A more homemade menu or daily menu. The pictures threw off the the teenagers in our group. The food speaks... read more

Our dinner group went to Homeland Food recently. The menu is diverse and interesting however many of the dishes are bland. My husband and I ordered the smoked salmon appetizer which was nice. One couple ordered Perogies and they were by far the best appetizer. My husband tasted the escargot and thought they were chewy and mediocre. I had a... More

This is a mom and pop restaurant in Oak Ridge with all home cooked stuff but the food wasn't very good. There are several realld ones in this category - notably Deans, Hot Bagel, Mediterranean Delight to name a few. But this was definitely mediocre...

I have been a regular here for several years. I always go for the Polish pierogies, which are really yummy. I'm a vegetarian and there aren't many vegetarian options here, but the pierogies are enough to keep me happy. I had a Polish friend visit once from Chicago, he declared it "the best Polish food he'd ever had." Now its... More

I've TRIED to eat there once. Today after church. Never again! Ordered spinach esplanadas. was served hamburger eslpanads. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she asked if I wanted something else. When I told here I wanted spinach esplanadas, she said they did not have them (although it is a menu choice). I told her that I did... More

As proud chef and owner of this well regarded restaurant I confess that I was shocked by the rudeness of this customer and his malicious review. I greated him and his lady companion, cordially thanked them for their first time visit, took their order and brought it to their table. Minutes later he called me to the table. He was... More

Stopped in for lunch today for our first visit to Homeland Food. My husband and I both opted for the Polish sampler platter to try several items at once. The kielbasa was some of the best I've had and the stuffed cabbage and pieroges were homemade and delicious. Great food and pleasant family oriented atmosphere. Will be back to try... More

We ate at Homeland Food for lunch during a recent trip to Oak Ridge and found the food to be excellent. The owner and chef visited with us as we were ordering to describe the menu and offer suggestions. She was a joy to meet and was very accommodating. During our two week trip to Oak Ridge, this was our... More

An interesting combination to say the least. Had the Polish sampler which consisted of pirouges, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage and saurkraut. Very, very good. Met the chef who is the wife of the owner, he is the Spanish connection. She was so glad we came by and invited us to return which we will. Next time I want to try a... More

Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed your visit and appreciate you taking the time to write a review. I need to correct you on one thing, though. I am not married to the owner: I am de owner! My husband has his own consulting business and helps me whenever he can and I ask. I do look forward making a... More
