Don't let the trailer park across the street fool you. Fox and Hound is a hidden gem in Newport, TN. The menu is the most sophisticated you will find in Newport, and the food is prepared very well. My wife and I love the atmosphere and the staff is great. It breaks my heart that more people don't eat there.... More

I have been eating at The Hound for many years. The food is always good and there are so many things to choose from. Pasta to Steak to Ribs to Chicken and Fish. Excellent appetizers and some great French Onion and Clam Chowder soup. We always eating in the bar and they do have specials that are like 2 for... More

Four of us went to lunch here. 2 lunches were good (catfish & prime rib w/potatos and yummy gravy). The other 2 terrible. One steak was requested to be well done and it came out rare. Waitress was ready and did argue with us. Waitress was not happy when 1 of us wanted coffee. She said she would have to... More

We decided to try the Fox and Hound after looking around the area for unique non-chain restaurants, found the online description was interesting, so off we went. The place was an old speakeasy, and they still have you ring the bell for admittance for nostalgia. It's a step back in time to the old supper clubs of the 60's. The... More

I am much more likely to write positive reveiws, but I thought I should warn travelers. The major negative is the food itself. The tenderloin is a very inexpensive cow tenderloin, small cut for number of ounces advertised. While the menu says Medium Rare is Red and warm in the middle, it came medium. As it turned out the meat... More

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I would like to offer my sincere apology for our failure to meet your expectations. We are known for our quality steaks & it is extremely distressing to here your tenderloin did not meet our standards. I will also address the catfish issue as it is a new preparation which we obviously are not... More

The short drive off the main drag is misleading but in no time you come upon the very large parking lot. As you enter you need to ring the doorbell to get in. They answer it promptly and greet you warmly. I understand the bell is from when they had alcohol serving rules for clubs only. The inside is very... More

This place is a very different than anything you will have been too...once you turn onto the gravel road to the restaurant, you will realize what I am talking about...looks like a trailer park...but don't be fooled...the place is great...you will have to go to the far back door...and then ring a doorbell to get in...rumor has that was an... Dined here on a Saturday evening on the recommendation of the front desk clerk at the hotel we stayed at. We were not disappointed. We were greeted promptly and warmly and shown to a comfortable side booth near the back of the larger of two dining areas. The building is an old Am-Vets facility and we were informed that that...
