I took my wife here for dinner a few weeks ago. The restaurant is in a 200 year old home in downtown. Wood floors, table cloths, custom doors and much more makes the setting unique. We both decided on the steak, definitely a great choice. My bone-in ribeye was top notch. Without a doubt the best steak in Nashville.

I went with a group, upon arrival the valets were great, the hostess was great, but from there it went down hill. I ordered a steak, it was so under cooked that it was just above rare, I had ordered it way above that level, it had no taste, no flavor, a chunk of grizzle, and it was look warm.... More

The food was on par with a Ruth's Chris, though the price was slightly higher. But, where The Standard won my heart was in the service! At Ruth's Chris you know the food will be on-point.....and, you will probably get good service too. But, The Standard provided a ton of personal service. Valet at the door, then the host was... Absolutely one of the most elegant and "Historic" dining experiences. The Standard was built in the 1800"s and has a rich history which is literally felt from the moment you are escorted through the door. The restaurant is attached to the Smith house owned now by Joshua H Smith who has taken great care to maintain the homes grace and... More

First, I need to say we love country music, but after navigating the mass of humanity on Broadway on a Saturday night, we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant on our way back to our hotel. Billy the maître d' greeted us warmly and we were extremely well taken care of for the rest of the evening. The filet and steak... More

We had a good meal here. It's a more formal venue than many in Nashville, and the service is excellent. I refrained from giving it 5 stars because while everything was good, nothing was really amazing and it was a little bit pricier than most of the other places we ate in the neighborhood.

Our 2nd trip to the Standard. I really want this to be my favorite restaurant in Nashville because all of the "non food" amenities are here in place. Atmosphere, history, unique location, good service, general ambience. What keeps it from being #1 is, unfortunately, the food. Don't get me wrong--the food is good, just not great. Examples--I got the shrimp... More

Classic dining experience. I was entertaining and that can be stressful as I picked the restaurant based on reviews in trip advisor.Place is like going back in time when service and quality mattered. Quiet and cultured. Wine list was good and service was outstanding. Food was fabulous. While this is a steak house ,party had a filet, the lamb and... More
