Lovely setting, great service and very good food

While staying at the Gaylord Opryland, my husband and I dined at the Old Hickory Traditional Steakhouse. Our evening started in the lovely Library Lounge for drinks and we were seated outside on the patio. All the food from the potatoes to the meat were over salted and over priced. The glasses of wine were also overpriced considering we had the same glass at a restaurant 100 feet away for 5 dollars less.

All pros, no cons, Atmosphere can't be beat, Saw the fountain show from our table. Wonderful. Steaks were prepared exactly as ordered. Shared mashed potatoes, enough for two. Also shared dessert, Wonderful! Cant say enough, definitely worth the money. Friendly wait staff, not stuffy. Very enjoyable experience!

Several of us had dinner here, following a meeting. The food was exceptional, most likely the best meal I have ever had. We started with appetizers of shrimp, crab cakes and scallops....yummy. I then had the Cobb Salad, it was delicious....great dressing, bacon and soft boiled egg. We then shared veggies...corn (yum), potatoes and asapagus...loved the family style, as there... More

I love this restaurant. I have had some wonderful meals here and I highly recommend it. It is a bit pricey, but the steaks are tender and flavorful and I think they are worth the price you pay. The service has always been very good, also.

If you're looking for a great meal, awesome service where the waiters are at your "beck and call," this is the restaurant for you. The steaks are wonderful and the waiters are very knowledgable and go above and beyond to make your visit a wonderful experience.

Restaurant is in the meddle of the beautiful hotel, but if you sit outside the waterfall sound can be a bit overwhelming over the course of an entire dinner...mostly due to the cascades. Wine menu is adequate but if you like French wine... no French wines; If you are looking for something different I recommend the tomato consommé, very good,... More

While staying at the Gaylord Opryland, my wife and I decided to give this place a try and we are more than delighted that we did. We started with the FOIE GRAS DUO which was very good ... especially Blueberry Moonshine Jam. Definitely a great start to the evening. We both order the filet. The sides are served family style... A l.ittle pricey but well worth the money. We split a 22 ounce Ribeye and still had a portion left over. Cooked perfectly. Would definitely go here again
