Heaven is in the Hog

My wife works down the road from Hog Heaven so we stopped in on Saturday she is a regular and I have never been there but pride myself on knowing good BBQ coming from the North Carolina. The look of the shack does not surprise me because good bbq can come from some whole in the wall places. I... read more

We all enjoyed our barbecue sandwiches. The sauce was also excellent. I had the hot sauce. I think it was the cooler of the two hot sauces. It was great. Easy to eat, but got hot after several bites. Great taste but not overbearing. It is an outside place, so it's cold in winter. They do have a nice covered... More

The food is quick, well-priced and great quality! You can eat in their enclosed outdoor seating if it's not to cold or take to go!

A friend suggested this place to me. I stopped in, it's right next to Centennial Park. It's a shack with some picnic tables. Which usually is a good sign. Free parking lot is next to the building and behind. If it's a nice day probably be great to just bring it over to the Park and eat there. I got... More

Outdoor seating only. Big picnic benches & it's partially screened in. But there's a very nice park across the street with a gabazo. The difference between the small & large is 3oz vs 5oz of meat. Great bbq sauce & try the white bbq sauce too. That was a yummy surprise. No wonder why this place is so busy. Great... More

When walking back to our hotel from Centennial Park and the Parthenon, we saw a sign at Hog Heaven advertising cobbler. When we checked out the menu, to our surprise and delight, a 3-vegetable plate was offered for the low price of $7.49. As vegetarians, we chose not to eat the baked beans with chunks of ham and a couple... More

We noticed this stand on the way to the UGA-Vandy game. So after the game, we figured we could grab some good food and wait for the traffic to die down. Well, we got one out of two and it wasn't the food! We tried the chicken sandwich...mediocre...pulled pork platter with two sides. Out of Mac n cheese so we... More

We stopped here for lunch and were very satisfied with our food. It's a smaller restaurant, with limited seating, but the food is definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Went here with my friends. It is located on the corner of centennial park. I had the veggie platter which was great. My friends had the beef and pork platters and loved them. Nice little dive to check out.

My colleague from Nashville told us to be sure to eat here. It's a real hole in the wall which would be fine if the food was anything special. Being from Houston, I'm used to really good barbecue. I'd call this ordinary.
