Poor representation of Tennessee BBQ. Pulled pork was very average, and I found the "famous" white sauce to be underwhelming. Macaroni and cheese side was one redeeming quality

My son and his wife to be wanted to find a BBQ place to cater there wedding reception and they wanted to have something from a down home local owned place. We started looking and tasting around when we ran across Hog Heaven. It fit all the things they wanted and the chicken with white sauce was great and the... More

Sad to say the worst part of 2 meals was the Beef Brisket. I always thought that tougher cuts of meat were to be cut ACROSS the grain. The "dry shoe strings" I was served, well, you get the picture, (glad I don't wear dentures). OK....Pulled Pork was good and moist. Sides of Cornbread, Baked Beans, Slaw, Mac N Cheese... More

Sounds like, looks like your typical BBQ Joint... but that's where it ends. Friendly, great, prompt service! Attention to details and quality out-strip anything the chains can offer. Selection is wide and, for its size, quite varied. My favorite(s), pulled pork, chicken, the beans (to die for) and potato salad. Bulk orders come with instructions and supplies and are well... The BBQ beans were FANTASTIC! Everything else was pretty middle of the road for me but I'd probably try it again. NOTE: there is no indoor seating, just a few picnic tables (they are covered). So I ended up getting mine to-go.

This is what a barbecue joint should look like. Plain, picnic tables, paper plates, paper cups and plastic utensils. Their smoked meats are wonderful and not overdone. Their white barbecue sauce for the chicken and turkey is unique and wonderful.

We moved to Memphis 18 months ago and have tried a dozen local bbq joints. All of them have the same pork butt...decent but nothing special, without enough penetration of smoke. However, Hog Heaven in Nashville is able to get the snoke flavor deep into the meat! Loved it! We also loved the white bbq sauce...zingy and flavorful! We will... More

Well, due to its multiple appearances on food television shows - maybe its not so hidden anymore. I travelled to Nashville recently for a football game and asked the front desk at my hotel where I could find really good, local cuisine. After pondering a couple of suggestions, I settled on Hog Heaven and wow did I make the right... More

After a brutal day at the DMV and running other various mind-numbing errands, I found myself in need of some serious barbecue therapy. The spectacular Centennial Park across the street is the only ambiance you'll find at Hog Heaven. It's basically just a shack with a screened-in porch. I've eaten awesome barbecue from even more run-down spots than this, so... More

4 sandwiches and 4 pints of sides was over $35! White Beans were either soured or had vinegar added. Greens were just okay. Sauces were on the sweet side with the exception of the white sauce, which was pretty good. The pork sandwiches left a bad after taste. Wanted to try this place for years, won't be back. Price wouldn't... More
