This restaurant sort of reminds me of the school canteen in that you queue up with your tray. However the food is nothing like school dinners! Excellent food from the South USA all cooked fresh . Particularly good grits, black eye peas and pecan pie. Very good prices and boxes provided for left overs to take home.

Definitely good home cooking. Nothing fancy but delicious and filling. I felt that I was at home with family. Very delicious food that didn't cut short on the butter or sugar,

What a treasure this place is! Arnold's features the best in country cooking. Locals line up early for their favorites, from the ham and roast beef to the fried green tomatoes and collard greens. I had the best piece of chess pie I think I've ever tasted, and I've tasted (and baked) a lot of them. The hot pepper chocolate... More

The line was out the door when we arrived and when we left. We had meat and three. The roast beef was very good. The sides were great. The PIE was out of this world. I think if the line had not still been out the door when we left I would have went back through just to try a... More

Order the "Meat and 3 [sides]"; there are daily specials but they are listed above the food so pre-read if you can squeeze a glance before having to assemble your plate. The beef brisket sells out fast. There is a perpetually long line. While in that line, I was torn between thinking I was in a tourist trap and thinking... More

I had read about this place for many years. So while in Nashville, I gave it a try. Wow the place is very small but the food is superb! Staff was very nice, especially the cashier. But know what u want before u get to the front of the line. Kinda reminded me if the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld!... More

Had the roast beef, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, small salad, & pecan pie. All were excellent. Service was outstanding & friendly. I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with the menu prior to getting to the counter... there's a about a hundred option & twice that amount in people waiting behind you.

We loved the vibe here. There's a line but it moves. Great meat and three sides. The roast beef was tender. Meatloaf, great, different with more BBQ. I locked the corn pudding and fried green tomatoes!
