So good!!

We used to come here in the 50's when it was near the town square. This is their 3rd location. Get the Oyster Roll and the Ham Roll. Of course all the metts and brats are super as the kraut!

My Mom was born in Germany and lived there till she was a teenager until she finally moved to the US. Her and my Grandmother raised my siblings and I on some really delicious German dishes so I'm pretty strict when it comes to German food. Now, I've had great German food before, but what I love about the Gerst... More

Great German Food. Sausages, schnitzel, beer... You can't go wrong. If you're looking for good service, go elsewhere!! It's been open since reconstruction but never known for service. Live music some nights too!!!

Walking Distance from the Ramada Inn... Had Goulash.. It was very good.. Plenty of beers on tap.. We had a pitcher Bitberger.. The waitress was friendly and attentive... My only complaint was their wine selection... The menu was adequate but of the 3 we asked for .. None were in stock... And we're not talking fancy wine here.. Just out... More

So I may be a little spoiled growing up in Pennsylvania Dutch country, but this wasn't what I remember as authentic German food. The beer was inexpensive and they had several different options. The decor is tired and you can tell they have been here a really long time. My husband kept wanting to try it, so I'm glad we... More

Amazing food! Great flavors that melt over your taste buds with every delicious bite. I have to say I was surprised by the price though. Still the food is amazing and the ambiance is worth the trip.

A Bavarian styled establishment with great, authentic German cuisine. The atmosphere, if you've not been to German, very closely resembles what a traveler would expect! The German beer selection is ample; the food is hearty and well prepared.

Hey I had been wanting to try this German place out. It is just off I24 near downtown and across from the Titan's Stadium. It is cozy and inviting inside with decor and touches of a German pub. The aroma is great when you enter, and are greeted by a very friendly gal at the desk. I sat in the... More

I am not a snob, I don't like to write bad reviews, I also don't like when my visits to new cities and my anticipation for good food is ruined. As with this case which happened this past Sunday afternoon after my wife and I had a very long drive from Jacksonville FL and picking up a speeding ticket and... More

The Gerst House is the place to go for authentic German beer and food. All entrees are served with sauerkraut. Pig knuckles are the finest along with other excellent meats. Don't leave without trying the apple strudel-it's the best.
