We were a little early for the live entertainment, so I can't speak to it. I did like the atmosphere except perhaps for the strange art for sale. Very eclectic place and the meatloaf was yummy! We did not leave hungry.

Suggested by our vacation rental host as a funky place to get good down home comfort food, we wandered down to this cute little place for a delicious supper. The atmosphere was definitely funky and the food was just like mom cooked it! We had their famous shepherds pie, which did not disappoint, along with a chicken pot pie...also quite... More

Was in Nashville for concert with 17 year old daughter and her friend. Apartment was in East Nashville and host had Family Wash listed as a restaurant in the area. Had dinner there on a Friday night at 8:30 PM. Cool little place. Live music. Good atmosphere. "Morty" was out waiter and did a good job. Food was very good.... More

We went there to enjoy some live music in Nashville. We were not disappointed with a great band playing rhythm and blues with talent. The food was also really good, we were 7 and every one of us enjoyed his meal. The cherry on the top was the beer really well made. The waitress helped us choose it by letting... More

Ok so after a big road trip or coming from the other side of the world like us , just mellowing out with a relaxed atmosphere, good beer and homely comfort food is like going home to Mums. Sue had the half Chicken with the bacon peas and mashed potatoe. I went for the Shepherd pie with spinach, garlic topping,... More

We were there on a Tuesday night, which is pint and pie night. That means that you can order a pint of beer and a shepherd's pie for $11. Two people at our table ordered that...one got the meat version, and the other ordered the vegetarian version. Both enjoyed their meals. The portions are large. I ordered the chicken pot... More

Have never been to Nashville before but will definitely go again! The town has an eclectic mix of neighborhoods yet is modern urban in many ways. This restaurant, recommended to us by our hosts, is tucked away in East Nashville, a re-gentrified area of the city. A Laundromat (!) in its previous life, it only has seating for maybe 60... More

One reviewer said "unassuming" and others speak different praises...okay, all justified. The food was great, so as a restaurant it deserves five stars. The beer on tap and by the bottle were pretty exotic; okay, I can do exotic but I chose the only light beer the bartender-in-chief said they had..Amstel Light. No problem. What was a problem was that... More

If you are looking for fancy, then look elsewhere. This place is a great little neighborhood bar and restaurant, with a very eclectic interior and a diverse crowd. The Saturday night jazz session is wonderful, but get there early to get a seat as it can get pretty crowded by 8 PM.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This is an unassuming spot on an unremarkable corner in East Nashville. Inside, however, you will find a complete treat. Soul-satisfying comfort food (especially the shepherd's pie) and live folk music every night. Enormous fun.
