Nice Comfortable Restaurant

We were in town for the Antique & Garden Show the end of Jan. One of my friends had been there before and liked it. It was an extremely friendly, comfortable place for 3 female friends to meet from out of town. We all had different dishes and everyone liked everything they had for dinner. I had... read more

I was here with a couple of colleagues for dinner. As our local friend told us, this is a storied restaurant of Nashville with write-ups about it in national newspapers like the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. I was told this is the spot in town for celebrity spotting - Dolly Parton has a favorite table here, as... More

It's overrated. Sorry, but it's true. I've had a few rather good dishes, and I've had a lot of. . . meh. It used to be trendy to say how good it is, so I kept giving it a try, but I think the good buzz everyone kept giving it was simply a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes." It's... More

I'll start by saying I'm a member of a Travel Writers Association. It's my job to review hotels, golf courses and restaurants. Ok, so the service is quite good. But the food is average, relatively tasteless and in some cases, covered with way too many spices. My wife started with a small caesar salad, which she described as the highlight.... More

Had lunch with a friend who frequents this cafe. Great ambience and food. Menu was large with elegant options. Lots of business people. A great place to eat and get away from it all. Highly recommend.

A sleeper of a restaurant that locals have made a favorite since it opened (20 years ago?). Randy, the owner often is present to greet guests and you get the feeling that he is overseeing every dish served! The menu features stand by favorites as well as the chef's pick. Try anything. It WILL be good!

This restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel. I found it on trip advisor and was very intrigue with their menu. Everything we had was delicious. Would highly recommend going to when in Nashville.

Mid priced (teens to 20s for supper), casual chic, small unprepossessing exterior. Bar is very small. Fantastic grilled port tenderloin with mushroom risotto.

For the 3 days prior to going to the Midtown Cafe I would look out the window from my hotel room and see it across the street and didn't think of ever going to it, but on the day of our check out we had some time before we needed to be at the airport. We decided to walk over... More
