The food, service and ambiance were wonderful. We were greeted warmly, our questions answered completely. The food was excellent. The waitstaff seemed to be happy to working there. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the hotel itself

The space is more formal given its setting and its heritage but the overall experience is far from pretentious. There main theme here is farm to table(from their own farms) and they execute it very well. The food was very good but I was a bit underwhelmed although that could have been from what I ordered. The service however was... More

Not part of the chain, downstairs in the Hermitage Hotel, a beaux arts classic hotel in exceptional condition. Forget the bar, even with good selection the poor service was frustrating. The restaurant, however, was simply outstanding. Ian, our server, explained the daily specials and answered several questions with knowledge and finesse. The drinks were exactly as we requested; the wine... More

As with all of the Cap Grills I have eaten at, this was a homerun! the 10 OZ filet melted in my mouth and all of the sides were delicious. As far as I am concerned, you cannot have a bad meal here. The wait staff were fantastic & very accommodating considering they were dealing with 14 unruly & heavily... More

There are not too many interesting restaurants in the business district of Nashville but this is a good choice. A robust selection of traditional dishes and a good list of wines makes for a nice evening. Fast, efficient and very good service. Good for business dinners.

Meeting my cousins in Nashville this past weekend I wanted to treat them to the perfect dinner (they drove 8 hours from IN). I searched through restaurants in Nashville and the Capitol Grille caught my eye. As soon as we arrived, I knew it was the best, possible choice! The atmosphere was beautiful and classy, the staff incredibly kind and... More

First the setting: both the bar and the restaurant are fabulous rooms with vaulted ceilings, wood panelling and classic decor. Second the food: best hanger steak I'e ever tasted, superb quail, interesting and unusual vegetables; all locally sourced. Third the service: discreet yet attentive. There was a mistake in the meals and the smooth recovery of the mistake was perfect:... More

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in. My brunch experience this morning was very good. The ham and brie omelet with roasted potatoes was first rate. Service was very good as were the prices. The bar/lounge is also lovely and very popular. I look forward to a return visit.
