The restaurant is pricey but it the food is very good and there is a lot of history in this building. The men's bathroom is famous (you need to check it out if you go!) and the bar offers some great drinks. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a more sophisticated atmosphere and don't mind spending a little... More

Capitol Grill is fine restaurant, for the most part good hotel restaurants have disappeared with a time gone by. Creamy Vidalia onion soup was superb; also they offered a trout skin appetizer that was spectacular. The Cesar salad was only good, scallops were great. The Carmel cake was just OK, just not my sort of thing, too sweet but the... More

This is a first class restaurant with first class prices, but well worth a splurge. We started our evening with a drink at the Oak Bar. Very elegant oak panelling, leaded glass, and per my husband, shoeshine attendant in the men's room. Very old school but not stuffy. In the Grille, we found very nice choices on the menu. Much... We were in town celebrating an upcoming wedding and decided to treat the bride to a night out. Based upon different web searches and reviews, we decided upon Capitol Grill. We walked into the Hermitage Hotel and felt like we were transported back to days long past. The decor in the Hotel and Capitol Grill is breath taking. I reserved... More

We met some friends for dinner. The other couples ordered meat - while I thought the octopus fritters were unique, that's not for my wife and I. We ended up ordering some side items - root vegetables w sorghum, for instance. That's not sorghum, the syrup...that's the grain. And I've never seen it served anywhere. Sort of a nutty taste... A large part of the enjoyment of our meal was our server, Lori. She gave us great recommendations and explanations as well as local attractions. The onion bisque and octopus fritters were unique AND AMAZING! Sometimes a filet is a filet is a filet, however this one was among the best I've had. Served in a cast iron dish with... More

The Marriott Concierge individual Ellen at the Airport recommended the restaurant when I requested something unique and typical Nashville. We first had drinks in the bar and what a selection of Bourbons and the paneling, etc. gave us feeling of old Nashville and a man's world then.. At 5 PM we were seated and experienced a first class meal and... More

We chose the Capital Grill for a birthday celebration with our family on a Monday night. Having never been there before, we were looking forward to the experience since it is consistently rated in the top 10 in Nashville. Located in the very beautiful, 5-star rated Hermitage Hotel, the atmosphere is quite casual with lots of light and English Oak... More

When you walk into the lobby you feel like you have stepped back in time with elegant decor. This is no chain hotel but instead an historic landmark in downtown Nashville. Even if you're just coming for dinner definitely stop in the bar for an intimate romantic drink. They have a lovely champagne and bourbon menu and extensive drink selections... More
