Brunch in Nashville's Historic Neighborhood

Germantown Cafe came recommended by a friend for a nice place to eat in Nashville and we were not disappointed. First of all our server, Kelly, was fantastic and fun. Her knowledge of the menu and wine list was of great help to us. She was witty and attentive and that alone made for a pleasant evening. We had the... More

Stopped at this place heading out of Nashville for the weekend and it's in a very cute neighborhood on the west side of the city. The wait was a little long and we luckily got seated quickly at the bar. The food was delicious, light, and different enough from basic breakfast/ brunch options. Good atmosphere and the servers were very... More

We were there on February 27 (a Friday) for dinner to celebrate my husband's 30th Birthday. Our server, Kelly, was FANTASTIC! She spent the time with us explaining what she liked on the menu, wines she preferred, and let us know about her. She was attentive without being annoying. The wine was fantastic! We each had a different entree, and... More

My wife and I recently went to the German town cafe for dinner. It was a date night before the "Kinky Boots" play at TPAC. After finishing our appetizer I noticed a live cockroach under my plate. The appetizer was very good, but this turned my stomach. Our waiter went to get the manager and he said " I am... More

We like to use Nashville's semi-annual Restaurant Week events to check out restaurants we've never tried. Germantown Cafe is so popular that we couldn't get in previously. We finally made it in January 2015. The service was stellar, the food very good--I had the catch of the day and my friend had the Coconut Curry Salmon. We'll go again.

Ate here for the first time last night, will no doubt eat again. We had duck and grouper dishes, both were excellent. The duck was "kind of" German-style, while the grouper was Gulf coast, blackened with crawfish etouffe as a topping. Service was great, they even accommodated us being a bit late for our reservation (we called ahead to let... More

We have been dining here intermittently for about 10 years. This was our first marginal experience. Our server seemed rather indifferent despite our wine and meal choices which were not of the minimal variety. Never once filled one glass after the initial opening. The ambience remains neutral but that is expected. Of our meal choices my French onion soup was... More

The dinners for the four of us were first rate, each perfect. Cheers for having a vegetarian option, a stuffed acorn squash, which was appreciated by everyone having a taste. The waiter was knowledgeable about both the wine and beer selections. It was a nice atmosphere that lent itself to being able to talk and be heard by all at... More
