Description: We decided to open our first full-size scoop shop in Nashville in June...
We decided to open our first full-size scoop shop in Nashville in June, 2011 in the East Nashville neighborhood for many reasons, but mainly because the place reminded us so much of our scrappy roots. East Nashville, home to cyclists and pedestrians, families and urban farmers, artists and musicians of all stripes, and do-it-yourself bar and restaurant owners, is one of our favorites places in the country. Since we've been in East Nashville, we've been able to cultivate partnerships with folks such as Don Henry, who grows strawberries for us to make the perennial favorite Roasted Strawberry Buttermilk, as well as the good people at Yazoo Brewing Company, who supplies Yazoo Sue porter for the year-round ice cream Yazoo Sue with Rosemary Bar Nuts. There's a fantastic creative community and overall vibe throughout Nashville-especially in East Nashville.

YUM

The seasonal lemon buttermilk ice cream was TO DIE FOR. Definitely worth the drive, and my husband loved the salted caramel also. Will go again for sure if we're back in Nashville.

This place was wonderful! Their unique flavors are quite delicious - I had a scoop on their pistachio honey (with wildflower honey) and the best milk chocolate ice cream. Both were quite good - I especially fell in love with the pistachio honey!!

The pistachio combined with the brioche ice cream in a waffle cone. ...yum yum...any of their eclectic favors are great.

There are a lot of unique delicious flavors to choose from so was tough to choose. I ended up picking the Buckeye State, which was a champion just like the Buckeyes! Plus I love peanut butter! My favorite was the lemon yogurt; the flavor was superb. A bit pricey but glad we tried on our trip!

Get thee to Jeni's. Order the strangest combination of flavors you see, then sit back and let your senses go nuts. Honestly, I have never tasted anything quite like this. Take your big wallet though.

I had been hearing about Jeni's for weeks when we finally got out to East Nashville to try it (though there's one in downtown now as well.) There was a long line and after sampling practically every flavor and making my choices, I can see why. The flavors are carefully curated and as the staff explains what each flavor contains,... We were visiting family in Nashville, decided must try Jeni's after reading all the reviews. Went there on a Saturday evening. Traffic is busy, parking is on a side street and parking is not abundant but found a spot. Just have patience and remember you will be happy once you have your ice cream! Had a line when got there,... More

This is not just vanilla and chocolate. Be prepared to test the flavors to understand what they are. The flavors are unique and varied. It is delicious, but pricey.

Very good ice cream. I got the buckeye state which was fabulous in a fresh waffle cone. The servers seem a little on the hipster doofus side. But get past them and it's a great ice cream spot

The ice cream was delicious with all kinds of unconventional options...my favorite was the Whiskey Pecan. The service was terrible as the ladies were perturbed that there were customers in the store. I'm not sure that I would go back.
