We've passed Thai Kitchen many times over the years, and only recently noticed that the name had changed from "Rice Bowl" to "Thai Kitchen." We always assumed it was a Chinese take-out place, and there's still a glass showcase/counter where we saw people coming in continuously for take-out. Tile floor, a few paintings on the wall, not much decoration. It's... More

Order "Thai hot". Person at counter takes order. Looks quizzical. You specify again "Thai hot" and say "I've lived in Thailand. I really mean it." Wait five minutes. Counter person brings your food to the table and says "Here is your order. Not hot." You say "What?!" She says "Not hot." You say Cook didn't believe me?" She says "Yes."... More

A friend and I went here for lunch recently. Even though parking was horrible it wasn't too busy inside. The lady gave us menus and told us to sit down. She came over and got our drink order while we looked over the menu. I ordered the red curry and my friend got a salad (veggies/peanut sauce) and one of... More

I have found this restaurant to always have excellent prices. It is certainly less expensive than restaurants along White Bridge Rd, with food of at least equal quality. I strongly recommend a pot of the Coconut Soup with Chicken, which can be shared among three or four people (or be a meal for one). The only specific suggestion I would... More

I have been coming to this restaurant since it was Rice Bowl. You absolutely will not find fresher fare at the $5.00 price point in Nashville. I almost always get spicy lo mein, sometimes with protein, sometimes just veggie. I would never order the shrimp again because it is truly shrimpy but I also expected that. Yes, there have been... First, to avoid confusion -- Thai Kitchen is also known as Rice Bowl. Same place, two different names! I've been eating here for more than 20 years. It's got WONDERFUL Thai food -- simple, freshly cooked, and FRESH ingredients. Do NOT bother with the "Chinese" selections, stick with the Thai dishes and the curries. Those little ladies standing at their... More

I am fan of the Spicy Noodles with Tofu ... but then again the Lad Nar is also one of my favorites. I get take out at least once a week, and since in summer, when my herbs and peppers are blooming, I bring bags of basil, mint and peppers ... and the cooks take care of me :)

The restaurant is located near the highway and easy to find if you look. The restaurant is in a store-front of a older building. The atmosphere is "functional." I did see many people of various ethnic backgrounds eating lunch there and this was encouraging. I ordered the "red curry" (curry chicken, vegetables, coconut milk). The curry was fresh and tasty but... More

Little hole in the wall place with great food and great prices. Not everything on the menu is spectacular, but once you find the dish you like, you'll be hooked. The same people have been working there for years, and consistency is one of their strong suits. The name is a bit misleading, though, as it's not really really a... More

This is the best Thai restaurants I have eaten at to date. My daughter took us here 4 months ago and we now go 3-4 times a month. Small, family owned and family operated. Our favorites are the panang curry, red curry and green curry. Ask for the special hot sauce.
