Awesome crowd & music with OK food

Great older crowd with country music from the house band and singers from the audience as well as pros dropping in. The food is OK, some terrific, but avoid the "famous" chicken livers, over cooked with charred peppers. Great bar! Stay's open late.

Advertised as a restaurant, John A's had bar quality food. Minors warning...there was a photo of a nearly naked elderly man on the wall of the ladies room I ordered one of their specials - the "best ruben in Nashville". What I received had only enough corned beef to cover half the soggy bread. My son ordered the vegetable special... More

I was looking for someplace to eat after 10 p.m. on a Tuesday and found this place. I really enjoyed both the wings and the ribs with the Jack Daniels sauce. The waiters were both friendly and efficient. And best of all was the music. There was a live band which was quite enjoyable. I am contemplating going back before... More

My wife and I ate there on Thursday night and came back on sunday for some awesome ribs. I can't believe the bad reviews, we had a great time there, Jon treated us like family and the entertainment on sunday was fantastic - what great folks !!! We will be back again !

We were there this week. Our waitress acted very uninterested in us. She never cleared our plates or checked on us. My husband had the catfish and I had the appetizer sampler. The fried pickles were the only thing we'd recommend. We wouldn't go back.

My Mom and Step Dad were in town for a convention so we hit up John A's for a quick dinner one week night evening. Our waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was pleasant and good for conversation. For those with children it was subdued considering the bar is fairly central and and open to the dining seating. The decor is... More

We were there early in the afternoon on Valentine's Day after checking into a nearby hotel. It was located very near the hotel we were staying in and did not require us to get back into the awful traffic that was trying to get to the Opryland Hotel! What we had was what I would call typical pub food, but... More

We disliked nothing about this place! Great food! Ashley, our service person, was great! Located so conveniently to hotels on Music Valley Blvd.

It is unfair to rate my experience at this restaurant because I was only there for drinks and to listen to music. I did not eat. The music was fun and included 3 guest performers. One guest performer was Roni Stoneman (aka Ida Mae Nagger) from Hey Hay. This was an unexpected surprise. She sang and played banjo x 3... More
