We are very open to a variety of restaurants, so we chose here based off the reviews we saw here on tripadvisor. Our favorite places are the delicious, small "whole in the ground" kind of places... Well I'd have to say we wouldn't recommend. Our waitress was very very nice. It's nice they have traditional country music entertainment. However here... More

We were a bit disappointed since the restaurant was recommended by the hotel. Basic southern food was not served hot. Country singer performed after 7.30pm/

We visited twice, as the first time was so good! The food was excellent, particularly the steaks. The decor is good, and the atmosphere and is helped by live country music. The servers were friendly and tried hard to be attentive, however when it starts to get busy, they seem to struggle. We had some of our order overlooked and... More

We walked over from our hotel to this restaurant and bar. Great atmosphere. Johnny A himself was sitting behind us. Johnny had build a place that country music stars would visit when they were breaking onto the music scene in Nashville. Some to mention were Randy Travis and Garth Brooks at one time or another came through Johnny A's. A... More

We decided to eat at John A's after reading the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was great and not over priced. Service was excellent and our waitress even ended up singing with the band. The band members stopped by our table to chat and took requests. We really had a nice time and would go again.

We visited John A's after a show at the Grand Ole Opry. Most other restaurants were getting ready to close and John A's was open later and still serving food. When we arrived there was a moderate sized crowd eating and enjoying the live show. The music was not too loud and the restaurant, on this evening, seemed to have... More

Stopped by in the late afternoon before heading to a show so the crowd was kind of light. Service was quick and friendly. Selected appetizers were half price so that was nice. Portions were huge and very good. Menu has many options from sandwiches and burgers to steaks. Would definitely stop in again.

John As was over the road from our hotel, it featured in the Nashville monthly magazine and sounded good so thought we'd give it a go. Being from the UK we are not really into or familiar with a lot of Country and Western music, but are always willing to take part in local experiences. The food was good, our... More
