Live music, great eats, and good drinks! I had a Blackberry Moonshine concotion of some sorts. It was very strong & yummy! Their porkchop sandwich on a pretzel bun is to die for, and so are their fried pickles!!!

We were staying in Opryland and wanted somewhere to eat that did not entail a drive. The receptionist at our hotel recommended John A's. From the outside it does not look too promising and on entering the restaurant the first time it looked chaotic - but it was a Saturday and I guess one of their busiest nights. Anyway we... More

A place nearby both our hotel and the Grand Old Opry. After the Opry we went for a late supper. We were seated immediately and given a table near the small stage. We were entertained during supper by a nice selection of 60's & 70's piano music. The singer, Jeff, sang a wide variety of songs from Dean Martin to... More

John A's is a great little place. Fun and descent food. I'm reviewing it because if you were making a decision to go in or not from the looks of the place - you would probably not go. It's Nashville fun - live music, friendly waitresses and lots of laughter. Enjoy.

If you are going for the music it is an enjoyable evening. The food and decor are quite basic so don't expect too much.

John A's is a legend, the bar scene is great and they are one of the very few places that knows how the grill a true Black and Blue Steak. John is often there, he will meet and greet and has some fantastic stories.

We were with a group of 13 on Fri the 13th. about 6:00. Some of the group were already having appitizers and drinks when we arrived. It took awhile for us to get menus and friends had to tell us about the specials on appitizers. My husband & I ordered beers and when served my came I had to ask... More

We walked in hearing excellent music after our visit to the Grand Ole Opry. I had a catfish dinner with excellent hush puppies and two bites of a fried moon pie a la mode that was outstanding. We were treated to several songs by Jim Ed Brown (who just happened to be dining there)and got his and Jeannie Sely's autograph.... More

This place was close to our hotel. We went on a Friday night; no problem securing a table. The Classics provided traditional country music. They were joined on stage by a regular singer, a tourist, and a very talented waitress. Several diners danced to the music. Food was average, but the martini was the worst I've had. An interesting and... More

Saw this restaurant advertised and received a referral to this restaurant by our concierge. Tables are very close together. Food was just average, nothing special. I had the Prime Rib Sandwich, which was more like prime rib drippings and crubles on a hoagie roll. The flavor was okay, but not impressive. Fries were just okay. Live music was fun.
