Rustic but quiet and pleasant for a meal or coffee

There has been a revamp at the cafe and the large front room is no longer packed with antiques making entry difficult. Always a good place for a coffee or a meal. The atmosphere is rustic and it is worth stopping here for a meal or during a drive in the scenic local countryside.

My husband took me out as disabled and not left home for ten days. We visited this unique treasure of a restaurant/cafe which was full, warm cosy fire place. Mix lounge chairs, tables and plenty of antiques to enjoy browsing. We just wanted a cuppa, and I asked if they had anything for coeliacs. Yep, they did. I am not... More

The cafe is located enroute to Healesville Sanctuary. With amazing surroundings and its homely ambience, its a great place to stop, relax and energise. The food is amazing. We were a 8 member group and there were no complaints whatsoever. A lot of silence and a lot of eating! The Meat Loaf is my personal recommendation here, however My friends... More

The premises has all the potential to capitalize on its location, but somewhat sadly lacking on all points. On entry to the Café there is a clutter of a old Display case,& the welcoming not exactly friendly, but once having entered, felt obliged to buy something. For Coffee or tea may be passable to some extent, but one Tea bag... More

We stopped here for coffee and cake on our way to Yering. We stumbled across this cafe totally by chance, and wouldn't go out of our way to go there again. The coffee and snacks were nice enough, but the head/ only waitress was particularly rude. The cafe itself is very sweet, with a lovely deck and outside area. If... More

Upon entering this place we were not greeted and left to our own devices and many times the waitress passed us several times without comment. After the waitress finally approached us after 10 minutes she informed us,'Did you not see the sign to order at the front counter.' The place was not busy, only two tables alongside us. My wife... I had lunch here yesterday with a group of seniors, we had booked and they knew how many of us were coming, but we found the service to be very slow. It was extremely hot on the verandah, none of the plastic blinds can be rolled up to let some air in. There was air conditioning in the Antiques part... More

Venue, antique shop and outdoor area were serene and enjoyable. Food was mediocre - their self proclaimed 'Cake Heaven' selection, was dry, tasteless... One thing that stood out for us (table of 10) was the service. It was absolutely appalling! Waitresses (all of them) were grouchy and unhelpful. They were unsmiling and unwilling to serve. No water to the table... More
