Lovely lunch

A large group of family popped into the Cosmopolitan, and we were treated to a lovely evening of creative dishes and exceptional local beer and wine. The beer garden is a treat for the kids to entertain themselves leaving the adults alone. Ask for the mozzie spray early. We were eaten alive.

Unfortunately found the Plough closed for the holidays, should've got back in the car, but The Cosmopolitan looked busy, normally a good sign, after 30 mins and the water had not even been bought to the table (had to get myself), my wife started to ask should we leave, wish we had. The place wasn't completely full, disappointing when the... More

The hotel jewel of Trentham. Great country atmosphere with great food choices and drinks list. Well priced. Staff friendly and welcoming. Perfect location to spend a lazy day.

Tucked away in tiny Trentham (alliteration unintended) this hotel is a gem. We were in town for a wedding. Arriving far too early, we had a glass of wine in the bar, which was chock-full of atmosphere, and peopled by a delightful mixture of down-to-earth locals, pleased-to-be-here tourists and overdressed wedding attendees. The wedding ceremony was at the Mechanics Institute... More

My brother and I get a warm welcome from the staff no matter if it is for a meal, or just a drink. Everything is reasonably priced.

It was a late Sunday afternoon and we wanted to share a bottle of red or two with friends - the Cosmo seemed a nice spot and it was. Firstly, the choice of wines was very good, particularly the local ones secondly, the atmosphere in this timber heritage b ar area was very conducive for enjoying a laugh and time... More

We love to take a drive in the country and discover new & existing country towns, like Trentham! The Cosmopolitan is certainly on the right track to being a very popular country refurbished pub. We had lunch on the rear deck in the garden, a lovely spring sunny day, complimented with a bottle of Curly Flat 2011 Chardonnay, with Confit... More

It has been two years since I have visited Trentham and upon hearing about its reopening some friends suggested a sunday drive and lunch at this Hotel which was burnt down some years ago. Being a beautiful day we sat outside and enjoyed the ambience and music of the band that was playing. Perfect start to our lunch. We order... More
