Casual but smartly decorated small hotel with outdoor seating, great on a sunny day

I really enjoyed lunch with my elderly mother at the Cosmopolitan Hotel last weekend. Staff were most attentive and friendly ensuring all of our questions were answered in a professional manner. Even though there are not many vegetarian options the Food and Beverage Manager, Caitlin was helpful in providing options for my mother. The ambience set with open fire, light... More

We came across The Cosmopolitan Hotel whilst driving through the country and decided to stop for lunch on a wintery Sunday. The staff were very good and even though it was very busy, they found us a window table in no time. We had great service, nothing to complain about at all. The food was also very good and generous... We've tried this place twice, last night for dinner and several moths ago for dinner on a Saturday night. Both times the service was close to non-existent, and what service there was was indifferent. It's a pity, because the place has a great atmosphere and it's a gorgeous building. Our meals on the previous visit were lovely and I have... More

Met some friends for a meal and a chat. The food was nice but the service was non existent. Had to go to the bar twice to get drinks for our table, this surprised me as they were only 4 tables occupied. Won't be back!!

The place is old and enchanting on the outside and slick and polished inside, but it's open plan tends to make it chilly. There is an open fireplace in the dining section but the back door has to be wedged open because the fire doesn't draw properly when the back door is closed and the extraction fans are on in... On Sunday 5 July we had booked a private room for a special birthday lunch. Due to a misunderstanding, another smaller party was booked in the same room. The restaurant manager very quickly relocated the second party in a most gracious and efficient manner. Our group of 16 had a most enjoyable afternoon with wonderful service. The herbed calamari entree... More

Having been touring the region one Sunday with while family (13 of us including children) we dediced to pop in and have a late lunch at The Cosmopolitan after hearing great things. We walked into a beautiful little pub with a fantastic atmosphere including live music. Lunch finished at 330 and we did book around lunch time for 3pm but... More

This is a great place for a getaway. Had an excellent lunch. Service was excellent and the setting great. The food is first class. I had the best veal schnitzel I have ever had. My friend had excellent pork sausages. Could not of wished for a better lunch.

The Cosmopolitan is a delightful country pub; good food, great location and atmosphere. But, I'd advise against going on a Sunday afternoon or when there are other functions going on. We arrived as a family of four for Sunday lunch, having booked a later time on the advice of the venue, to be left standing for some time at the... More
