Met some friends for a meal and a chat. The food was nice but the service was non existent. Had to go to the bar twice to get drinks for our table, this surprised me as they were only 4 tables occupied. Won't be back!!

The place is old and enchanting on the outside and slick and polished inside, but it's open plan tends to make it chilly. There is an open fireplace in the dining section but the back door has to be wedged open because the fire doesn't draw properly when the back door is closed and the extraction fans are on in... On Sunday 5 July we had booked a private room for a special birthday lunch. Due to a misunderstanding, another smaller party was booked in the same room. The restaurant manager very quickly relocated the second party in a most gracious and efficient manner. Our group of 16 had a most enjoyable afternoon with wonderful service. The herbed calamari entree... More

Having been touring the region one Sunday with while family (13 of us including children) we dediced to pop in and have a late lunch at The Cosmopolitan after hearing great things. We walked into a beautiful little pub with a fantastic atmosphere including live music. Lunch finished at 330 and we did book around lunch time for 3pm but... More

This is a great place for a getaway. Had an excellent lunch. Service was excellent and the setting great. The food is first class. I had the best veal schnitzel I have ever had. My friend had excellent pork sausages. Could not of wished for a better lunch.

The Cosmopolitan is a delightful country pub; good food, great location and atmosphere. But, I'd advise against going on a Sunday afternoon or when there are other functions going on. We arrived as a family of four for Sunday lunch, having booked a later time on the advice of the venue, to be left standing for some time at the... More

Very nice looking old hotel in an old gold miners town. Service was friendly though slightly indifferent and crepes, but it was very quiet on a Sunday night. A small variety of food, reasonably priced and good. Not great, not bad but just good. There's not much choice in a small town like Trentham, but the Cosmo is worth a... More

Came for dinner on a Friday night, and pleasantly surprised! $25 - 2 course deal and it was beautiful, and good size serves! Sardines for entree- and Parma for main- yum. My partner had the duck (not on the special deal) and whilst slightly overcooked the flavours and overall dish were very good. Will return- especially on a Friday night!

We got married at The Cosmo and it was perfect. Rain meant our ceremony in the beautiful gardens occurred in the local hall instead but we still had our reception in the stables at the bottom of the garden. The ambience was perfect, as was the service and the creative vegetarian food they served. Rod, Fiona and their team were... More
