It has been two years since I have visited Trentham and upon hearing about its reopening some friends suggested a sunday drive and lunch at this Hotel which was burnt down some years ago. Being a beautiful day we sat outside and enjoyed the ambience and music of the band that was playing. Perfect start to our lunch. We order... More

Lunch on a cold wet Sunday with roaring fires and live music.... Perfect. A limited menu but the food was delicious. However, it is difficult to understand how the kitchen can run out of one of the mains and one dessert after one hour from opening. Makes the menu even more restrictive. The staff, friendly and welcoming and the service... More

We were recommended to drop by this place on the way back to Melbourne... I had the soup of the day - Lentil and vegetables which was salty and ok. My friend's fish and chips were also ok but nothing to rave about. We should have returned to the Red Beard bakery.

We decide to dine at the Cosmo after receiving some good reviews from family members and seeing it won the runner up award in 2013. We chanced our booking by doing a walk in and was accommodated accordingly. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We shared our entree of calamari which was tasty by very small in portion and looked... More

We were not disappointed!... You cant beet a good Aussie pub meal,. but this felt more like a resteraunt as the order is taken at the table... The night... More

Maybe I visited the wrong hotel on June 8! Or perhaps it was the long weekend that was the problem. But I think not. Accepting how busy it was we fluked a table for two without booking. The people next to us had booked but were outside in the cold for 30 minutes waiting for a table. The people next... More

My partner and I plus four close friends enjoyed a wonderful Friday evening here recently. We ordered a selection of starters and all were simply perfect. All four of us ordered the Slow cooked Beef as a main course and marveled over it's succulent texture and strong clear flavors. The Friday night special is two courses for $25 which was... More

We were told the Cosmopolitan Hotel burnt down to the ground 10 years ago, and only the facade was left - even the stumps were gone. But you wouldn't know it to see the place now. The place has been rebuilt tastefully and with obvious respect for the area and its heritage and it looks wonderful, warm and inviting. Our... More

Our service was great, and our meals came out fairly quick. The salmon I had was absolutely divine, just wish they had given the heads up when ordering that it was also the tiniest & tastiest piece of salmon! The others in our group thoroughly enjoyed their dinners. Went back to our holiday accommodation at Akyra Lodge to have our... More
