Grand Hotel

Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Close to amenities and a short stroll to the beach. Old world charm. We had dinner at the restaurant located downstairs, good value for money.

We ate at this pub on a Saturday night. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile and seated. Our meals arrived in good time - we had braised pork ribs and pork stir fry. Both meals were really delicious and certainly very generous proportions. The atmosphere was great - what you'd expect at a... More

After an hour and ten minute wait for our steaks...they were cold, chips were under cooked also. Service was very ordinary also and food was way over priced. Won't be going back there again unfortunately

On Sunday 31/5 we decided to go to the Grand Hotel to have dinner for three reasons: nice ambience, good pub food and open fire. We we're disappointed on all accounts. When entering the empty dining room at 7.30 pm I found a young woman dressed in black and covered in a big white shawl aimlessly meandering through the dining... More

Long gone are the day's when Paddle Steamers from Geelong & Melbourne brought hordes of day tripper's & holiday makers to this Port town, who would head up the hill, to the Grand Hotel. Perhaps for a Sunday Roast Lunch, with a Steamed Pudding to follow. Well the Hotel still stands, with the flag fluttering from the Tower, but the... More

Never been there but wanted to give it a try. Wish we had not. Ambiance non existent, Staff unclear of anything, log fire in bistro filled room with smoke so much that staff had to open doors to let smoke out, Food below average.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and have enjoyed the meals very much, great variety and beautifully cooked. We appreciated how staff catered for individuals with special food needs, it was no trouble and graciously done. Great for families, singles and friends getting together all are made to feel welcome.

Eaten there on many occasions & recommended it to all our friends. Last meal wasn't up to standard...maybe Chef was off-duty? The Lamb Shanks were tough & The John Dory tasted frozen & all lacking favour! The only compensation was a free drink! Having been hoteliers for many years in Williamstown...that is NOT acceptable! Money refunded or vouchers to try... More
