Description: Making its home in the picturesque little fishing village of Port Albert, 'Wildfish' is South Gippsland's premier waterfront restaurant. With a simple philosophy of producing the freshest local seafood caught by local fishermen 'Wildfish' is much welcomed in the food and wine circles of Gippsland. Occupying the site of the old fishermen's co-op, diners are likely to see the fresh seafood on the menu being unloaded from the fishing boats on the wharf at the front of the restaurant. Port Albert is such a special place, with rich maritime history, beautiful natural scenery and surrounded by some of the countries best National Parks. A picturesque two and a half hour drive from Melbourne and you're already relaxed. Step into Wildfish and truly unwind. You can choose from a cocktail or fantastic local wines that you can enjoy at the beautiful handcrafted bar or sink into the cosy lounge before your meal. There is nothing better on a beautiful day than dining on fresh seafood on the deck which is literally on the water. You can enjoy artisan bread at your table takeaway cakes, croissants, pastries and more.. The service is warm and friendly, the food is exceptional and the surroundings amazing.

A real taste of what southern Victoria can offer without the usual coastal commercial clutter. Scenic drive to historic windswept Port Albert fishing village for an absolutely fabulous dining experience. Great Italian seafood ( the buffalo mozzarella was to die for) friendly, efficient staff, spectacular setting on the water despite a windy day cosy, stylish, fresh building. Hope the locals... More

We stayed at a local B&B and hoped that this place could feed my wife who has a umber of dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble! The champagne was also excellent

A bottle of Prosecco perfectly matched our fresh seafood which included prawns with chilli, butterfish with bok choy and flathead caught that day. The bufala salad was simple and fresh. The service was wonderful with a nice explaintion of each dish we were considering including how the chef prepares it. Desserts were to die for modern Italian beautifully presented. Do... More

Dear Wildfish - we're so excited that we stumbled upon you! What a night to remember - New Year's Eve 2014 went off with an international BANG, with your absolutely delicious 8 course Italian feast, with your Sardinian Quartet who I thought were like a mixture of the Buena Vista Social Club and the Bee Gees - they were absolutely... Went here for dinner with my partner a few weeks ago on a Friday night, upon arrival we were impressed by the unique venue and location. The service throughout the night was impeccable, the staff were friendly and knowledgable about the dishes as well as the wines and we were even given a small serving of the house made sourdough... 1.30 pm Sunday of Melbourne Cup Weekend! 7 people turned back for light snack and coffees! Sorry kitchen closed (the sign out the front says 12-2 dining) and we are too busy to do coffees! The restaurant wasn't even a quarter full and heaps of room for us to sit! Good luck with your rudeness Wildfish!

Unfortunately the cup week-end we had two of our staff not in service due to a breakdown they had on the high way from Melbourne to Port Albert, so we end it up being only tree of us to cater for a full house restaurant. It was 15 to 2 pm when you walked in and all we said was... More

we dined at Wildfish last night. Some reviews we had read mentioned problems with service but we found quite the opposite - friendly, informative and smooth. The food was very tasty and well plated. We shared the tasting spoons - scallop, prawn and salmon which were all delicious. The house made bread was a nice touch - we bought a... More
