It is a bit pricey but for that you get unlimited food (which is reasonable) and entertainment so you can't really complain about that. We had a good night, they cater well for birthdays. Only major complaint is the waiting staff. All night I only had 1 beer, the drinks staff just were never around. It was a quiet night... More

We went here after being "kicked out" of the Clocks; we had a ball!!! Amazing - one German pub accept you with open arms, the other has such a bad understanding of - um - German culture! Food was great, heaps of beer, even called us a Taxi. Utterly the opposite experience from the very bad German Clocks and Cafe... More

I have been here three times and swear that's enough for a life time. The hype and atmosphere of the place builds it up but it is kinda like McDonalds, once you've been and eaten you walk out wondering why did I do that? It is getting expensive and to be honest, unless your some super fatty who can eat... More

We went to the Cuckoo Restaurant with my immediate family, being 12 adults and 4 children.  This a a lovely place in the beautiful Dandenongs. The Cuckoo is clean. Alive with action.  There is plenty of off-road parking available.  You are welcomed at the door by a friendly face. And as the various family members arrived, they were seamlessly escorted to... Like stepping back in time to the 70's. A good value afternoon tea/ late lunch after 3.30 with entertainment on Australia Day when we went. Not changed since all those years ago when we went regularly. Food reliably wholesome and alcoholic drinks reasonably priced. Ambience excellent.

We have been visiting the Cuckoo for 25 years and more, and always found it a lively and welcoming restaurant. Our latest visit this month was quite disappointing. The quality of the food was good, even a little better than usual, and met expectations for a buffet meal. However, we were required to pay a deposit over the phone for... More

Our family visited the restaurant for a buffet lunch on Australia Day. This place is unique and very welcoming. Buffet was very nice with different varieties and meat, seafood and salad dishes. Deserts were amazing. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Entertainment a bonus! The only down side to this restaurant is the cost per person for the buffet. Prices are... More

Just about everyone has heard of The Cuckoo which is an iconic restaurant in the Dandenong Ranges. Went to the restaurant with a group of around 10 friends for dinner. The menu was a smorgasbord and most of our party thought the food was only average, although a few who generally only go out for cheaper type pub meals thought... More
