Authentic Mexican Food, Great Margaritas, Relaxed Atmosphere and Great for Families!! Established in 1997 We are the first Mexican restaurant in Mt Juliet, and won the best Mexican restaurant in 2012 for the Mt Juliet area. The restaurant has been under new ownership and management since 2011. The entire inside has been renovated with new lighting, tables, booths, and bar!In 2006 Memo started working at El Rey Azteca in Mt Juliet as a server and worked very hard and all customers wanted to sit his his section. They always said he's a mover and takes pride in his job. He always says " hard work pays off" and that it did. So when the opportunity raised for him to buy the restaurant he did. He has built a team that has the same thoughts " hard work pays off". We are blessed to have wonderful customers that now have become family.

Food quality is good but not like it used to be

El Rey was the Mexican restaurant of choice for years. Consistently high quality and friendly, fast customer service was the norm. Recently they seem to have fallen prone to mass produced, lower quality dishes and service has tailed a bit. Still a good place to eat. Prices have gone up, quality... read more

The is a clean restaurant with tasty food and beautiful murals. My wife isn't big on Mexican food but was very happy with the chicken enchiladas.

I was excited to try this place based on the high ratings but was very disappointed right off the bat. The front doors were open and it was warmish in there especially after you ate. First we started off with a drink i wanted a margarita since people said they were the best and my son wanted a beer. Well... More

Omg, the food is fantastic! I'm passing through town and our family members brought us here. It was well worth the trip. Service was good and friendly. I would suggest that you come and eat. You will be totally satisfied.

I have been a couple time and the food is always great. The staff is friendly and very fast. I never have to wait around for a refill or my food. Best Fajitas I have ever had in a mexican restaurant.

The location has been well used for many years now...it's just an older plaza that needs some sprucing up. I'm going to say that this is our favorite Mexican food in Mt. Juliet. The best Margaritas, the best fresh salsa, and most definitely the best value. Check it out when you can.

This is the second time we ate lunch at El Rey Azteca and, once again, very good. Their complimentary salsa and chips are good, fairly mild but tasty. We ordered guacamole which was not as chunky as we prefer it but the flavor was there. The flautas are quite different and really delicious and the chicken quesedilla had an entire... More

The service is friendly and the food is very good. Portions are large and reasonably priced. Similar to food I have had in Mexico. Mexican atmosphere.
